Betty X. Wang


Welcome! I am an applied microeconomist. I work as an Assistant Professor in the Economics department at the University of Hong Kong, Faculty of Business and Economics, as well as a Research Affiliate of the NYU's Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy.

My research interests are in urban and real estate economics, housing economics and finance, and Chinese economy. 

I received a B.A/B.S. degree in International Area Studies, Mathematics and Economics from Washington University in St Louis in 2015. I obtained my Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in August 2021. Prior to HKU, I worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Scholar at the Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy, New York University as well as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Urban Planning at NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
