Research Interest
Information-Theoretic Secure & Robust Aggregation for Federated Learning (FL)
Research on the fundamental trade-off between communication, secure key consumption and straggler/adversary tolerance in FL systems with various network topologies (e.g., hierarchical/relay, decentralized networks etc.)
Communication-Efficient Decentralized Learning
Research on the optimal trade-off between model convergence and communication efficiency (via model compression)
Efficient compression algorithms through model/gradient quantization & sparsification
Cache-aided Multiuser Private Information Retrieval (MuPIR)
Research on the fundamental communication vs. storage trade-off in cache/side information-aided multiuser PIR systems
Cache-aided MuPIR reveals an elegant connection between PIR (one-user-to-many-servers) and coded caching (one-server-to-many-users), two profound information-theoretic problems with reverse communication architectures.
Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC)
Information-theoretic characterization of the fundamental trade-off between communication and sensing
Coded Distributed & Elastic Computing
