Same thing for the USB printer. After getting the USB driver to install, it still would not do duplex printing. Finally I had to drill down to printer properities and get the duplex module change to "INSTALLED" then it would go to duplex printing.

I cannot beleive that it is not possible to simply plug in a 6515 via a USB cable to a computer and have the dam thing install the correct drivers and software! The printer/scanner install disk always defaults (with no option) to network or wifi connection. I've sent hours explaining this predicament with Xerox support and I get no where, they just want to remote in and fix the issue. With the way Covid has set up things, there is no rhyme or reason as to when the end user is at their computer. WHY is there no instructions that read "How to set up a 6515 via USB to a stand alone Win 10 computer and make it actually WORK with color duplex printing and scanning capability" Someone please tell me the secret!!!

Hello I used to scan remotely from my pc a lot of documents from Xerox prind and scan experience. Everything was working correcly (I could scan 2-sides of paper) until last few days. Right now this app (other don't even find any scanner driver) scanning only one side of each paper which is useless because if needed i would put it on glass. Tried a lot of things : update drivers, install dedicated scan drivers, reinstall apps, search option in web panel (in experience app this option is unavailable).

Change User Interface under Scanner Options from Hide Scanner's Native Interface to Show Scanner's Native Interface. Show Scanner's Native Interface uses the same scanning method previous versions of Acrobat. It lets the scanner's driver operate the scanner. Hide Scanner's Native Interface attempts to use the twain driver directly. It can eliminate error messages, especially when you are scanning multiple pieces of paper. If none of these solutions work, then it's sometimes necessary to use a workaround. See solution 8 under General troubleshooting tasks, or contact your scanner manufacturer for an updated driver.

Acrobat supports Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) drivers. If your scanner supports both drivers, then select the WIA driver from the Device menu in the Create PDF From Scanner dialog box. Scan the document.

Contact the scanner manufacturer to obtain the latest driver. To reinstall the driver, delete all files and folders that begin with Twain (for example, "Twain_32.dll") in the Windows or Winnt folder. Then, restart Windows, and then install the latest scanner driver according to the manufacturer's instructions.

I too cannot believe duplex scanning is not available. My previous scanner of 10 years had this and I assumed all modern scanners had this functionality. I have had the 642 for over a month so returning to get one with this functionality is not possible. An upgrade to the software to enable this would be great - but for now I will just have to keep using the 10 year old Xerox scanner and delegate the new Canon to print only functionality. Very dissapointing...

There are other differences between TWAIN and WIA. TWAIN has three transfer modes (native, memory, file) while WIA has only two (memory, file). TWAIN enables device vendors to create a customized user interface for each driver. WIA uses a simplified user interface for all devices, based on a scripting object model. If you only need basic scanning functions, WIA is enough. If you need to use more sophisticated features of a scanner, such as different options for each page when scanning in duplex mode, TWAIN should be your choice.

From this point when you scan a new document from Drake Documents, an interface for your scanner will appear and you can manually set parameters such as paper size, dots-per-inch, color quality, etc. The parameters available will vary according to scanner make and model, since the driver is provided by the manufacturer of your scanner and not by Drake Software. e24fc04721
