What are the Steps for Xero Login? (Web, iOS, Android)

  1. Simple Steps for Xero Login from Web Browser

  • If you want to log in to Xero, go to the Xero login screen.

  • To log in to Xero Central, click Login at the top of any Xero Central page.

  • Enter your email address and password, then click Log in.

  • If you use MFA, follow the steps in Xero to authenticate your login.

  • Open the Xero app on your phone or tablet.

  • Tap Xero Log in.

  • Enter your email and password.

  • Tap Log in.

The first time you log in to Xero for iOS, you can select an option from your device to lock the app, or you can leave it unlocked by selecting Don’t lock it.

  • Tap the menu icon on the dashboard, then tap Account.

  • Under Additional security, tap the lock option shown.

  • Tap one of the other lock options.

  • To return to the dashboard, tap More in the Account screen.

The first time you log in to Xero for Android, either tap Yes please to keep the app unlocked or Yes, but lock it to use the existing lock method on your device.

Change your password

You can change the password you use to log in to Xero while you're logged in. Read our tips for selecting a strong password to keep your Xero account safe.


  • Click on your initials or profile image, then click Account. (The account link in the user menu.)

  • Next to Password, click Change.

  • Complete the fields.

  • Click Save.

Change your email address

Your new email address can't already be used in Xero. If it is, you can invite the email address as a user into the organisation. It's not possible to merge multiple Xero logins.


  • Click on your initials or profile image, then click Account.

  • Next to Email address, click Change.

  • Enter your new email address, your login password, and click Save.

  • Open the email we sent to your new email address and click the confirmation link. The link will expire after 60 minutes.

  • If you're asked to log in, do this using your old email address.

  • Click Confirm.

Forgot Email Address or Password?

If you've forgotten your password, or are locked out after entering your password too many times, you can reset your password from the Xero login page.

To access your xero account you need to login to associated email account. Without that you can not reset or access xero account.

Trying to log in to a Mobile App

If you’re using one of Xero’s mobile apps for iOS or Android, make sure you’ve installed the latest version. Xero regularly release updates so you’ll need the latest version to get all the features and improvements. Go to Play store or App store to update with the latest version of Xero App.

If you have Lost your authentication device

If you lose your phone, or the device which has your authenticator app on it, we recommend you change your Xero login password. If you use security questions as your backup authentication method, you might also want to change your security questions.


When you get your new device, set it up with MFA. If MFA is mandatory for you, you'll need to do this before you use Xero. You can use your backup authentication method to log in to Xero until you're all set up. If you don't yet have a new device, find out how to set up MFA without a smartphone or tablet in the meantime.
