The Proletarian As A Suicidal Class
Featuring. Noel Marxgrave
Communism is the real movement to abolish the present state of things. The transition period, the dictatorship of the proletariat, the rule of the producers etc. is merely a mass generalization of proletarian conditions. Communization is the abolition of the proletarian condition on a generalized scale. The immediate socialization of production and the free and equal association of producers. It is the immediate production of communist social relations and the abolition of capitalist ones. The proletariat is a class defined by its own oppression and as such, the struggle to abolish the oppression of the proletariat is the struggle to abolish the proletariat itself. Workerism is the glorification of this oppression and its conditions. Communization is, contrary to Theorie Communiste's objections, a process of making things common. It is, however, not this alone. Communization is the liquidation of private property, of hierarchy, of exploitation, of capitalism.
Communization is a process of proletarian self-negation, of proletarian suicide and transcendance. It is the abolition of the conditions which produce the proletariat as a class. Through unionism, through consumerism, through the production of the social factory, the proletariat has become completely integrated into capitalism as a co-dependency. While class struggle is certainly still existent, the hyper-stratification of desire under Capital has, like a malign cookie-cutter, shaved away all aspects of class struggle that were not conductive to the accumulation of value. As of now, genuine revolutionary desire is only freed during specific moments of insurrection. A riot, a strike, whatever the expression of desire may be, the proletariat is as of now capable of expressing its revolutionary desire during very specific moments, very specific struggles. The proletariat desires to free its desire. The proletariat is a war machine. The desire of the proletariat is continuously stratified, cut and directed towards producing more and more for the sake of Capital. This leads to a general unrest in the proletarian. Suppressed desire does not simply dissapear, no, it is retained, kept, sublimated. Revolutionary spontaneity is the purest expression of proletarian discontent. A insurrection in the now. A new hope for the future. It is the freeing of desire.
Communization is revolutionary spontaneity in its most destructive mode. It is the complete deconstruction and reconstruction of society at a localized scale. Communization is the abolition of all oppressive and repressive relations of production. Communism is produced in a state of flux, of becoming. In no way can there be a utopian prescription for what communism 'should' be. One could only through revolutionary spontaneity imagine what it could be. As far as we are concerned, communism is a project dissolving the boundaries between negation & creation. It is both the destruction of present social relations and the construction of new ones. However, what forms these new social relations will take cannot be said in exact terms. In fact, to attempt a solidified, definitive description of these social relations is a futile effort of a utopian nature. While we may be accused of proposing a fuzzy, nondescript plan for 'making common', we do not subscribe to such notions. We propose the free and equal association of producers, not the strict and stuffy utopian boredom proposed by the likes of the GIK. Producers may form whatever associations and contracts of production they deem necessary to satisfy their goals, and to produce whatever it is they may desire. However, it is not our goal to create institutions. Institutions are the weapons of Capital, and will have no place in the coming world. Indeed, it is communism that destroys institutions and creates associations.
The working class despises its conditions, it is the "lower class", the undesirable state. The proletariat is a necessarily suicidal class. The proletariat as a class cannot be liberated except through the abolition of the conditions which create it(as opposed to the generalization of its conditions.) The proletariat desires to have a different identity more free only achievable by the destruction & rebirth of itself. A negation of what one currently is and an affirmation of what could be, a desire to go beyond. This desire is the drive behind anti-capitalist deterritorialization. The repressed desire of the proletariat is a textbook example of what we designate as a "negative condition"(here we mean negative as negate-ive): a flow which actualizes its own destruction. An example can be found in the unstable isotope. Unstable, in flux, collapsing and eventually stabilizing into a new form. Many negative conditions succeed in self-abolition rather quickly, but the desire of the proletariat has been stratified & territorialised so that its discontent may only be expressed through the game of unions and employers, the farcical display to capital that the proletariat requires higher upkeep.
Workerism is the mythologization of proletarian conditions. It is what Jacques Camatte labeled the "Myth of The Proletariat". The proletariat becomes more than a class. It is an ideal, a thought which reality is to be measured against. The proletarian desire for self-abolition must be recognized. Workerism merely reproduces and generalizes the conditions of the proletariat, rather than transcending them. The proletarian condition is defined by its exploitation, and as such, if one fetishises and generalizes this condition, one maintains its exploitation. This is the nature of the dictatorship of the proletariat: the mass generalization of proletarian conditions. The working class possesses a repressed desire for self-abolition, for becoming-fluid. The proletariat must endeavor to fulfill its negative condition, to abolish itself and to liberate its creative potential.
Capital has spread into the daily life, everything becomes quantified, monitored & recorded. The factory is now inside the home, the school & your favorite hang out spot. Capitalism doesn't just affect economic aspects of life it has become something in social aspects, inside the online economics. The home is now a place of unwaged reproductive labour, merely a place to regain labor power. This capitalist social factory is able to maintain the sublimation of desire and capitalist realism as the system becomes constantly invested in the every day.
Societies control spread the manifestation of the social factory as desire becomes territorialised to fit into safer forms, this control is flat and dispersed in the every day. This manifests in capitalist realism and prevents the ability to imagine alternatives, prevents us from even getting started. We are not capable of an "end goal" just yet, first we must dismantle the social factory, demolish capitalist realism & rebel against control. We must establish some form of starting point and avoid getting ahead of ourselves. The process of communization is a process, an attack on power & control, a deterritorialisation of desire from capitalist realism and a destruction of the social factory. Insurrectionary tactics means we must do as the Invisible Commitee propose: to Spread Anarchy, Live Communism.
