Cleaning up the urine may not be that difficult, but there's always a chance you'll still smell it if it's gone. dry on the mat. To get rid of the smell, you can use vinegar and baking soda, the carpet will smell brand new when finished.
In a spray bottle, put water and white vinegar and mix them well. Apply the mixture to the urine stain and let it sit for 15 minutes. Caution: Do not rub the carpet back and forth or both the vinegar and urine will get deep into the carpet instead of coming out through the surface.
Cover the vinegar and baking soda solution (a thin layer) to deodorize the carpet and press it down. against fabric using a cloth. After applying the baking soda, let it sit to remove moisture and odor until from the deepest parts of the carpet; the baking soda will rise to the surface, forming a thin crust. Always test the mixture first in another smaller area if you are concerned that the vinegar might change the color of the carpet.
Run the vacuum cleaner over the baking soda as soon as it dries completely. It will be absorbed and come off the carpet, but pass the vacuum cleaner several times, as the substance can get quite deep. When finished, smell the place stained and see if you can still smell any urine. If you notice that the unpleasant odor is still present, apply the solution once more.
