There is no Control panel as much as Windows. you have to go to the route. usually its Finder > Applications > (find your Xampp Folder) > Expand the folder. that's the current way and its helped me with android studios

After searching all over the WWW, I couldn't solve my problem.

I want to launch Xampp via desktop control panel and also I made the xampp-control-panel.desktop in desktop and ~/.local/share/applications/ paths with the text below but no answer:

This results in a situation in which there are multiple instances of the XAMPP Control Panel running at any one time, and I have a feeling stopping and starting Apache and MySQL from these multiple control panels is resulting in database corruptions like this one, which occurs every few months.

I had this problem with windows 7 . I have solved this problem with select run as administrator. right click on xampp control panel icon than check

run as administrator in compatibility section. Now every things work fine.

Something else I noticed. On all of the screen shots I have seen for the XAMPP control panel, various services are selected. When the control panel comes up on my computer none of the services are selected. I tried to auto start apache and got the following log messages in the control panel

I quit Xampp when I clicked Quit from the Control Panel, but when I tried to rename the xampp folder it said it was still in use.. It was still running apparently. When I went into the task tray and right-clicked the icon, I could then rename the xampp folder.

When I start the MySQL module in the Xampp control panel I get this error:

1. Download the latest version of Apache on apachelounge.com/download/

2. Save zipped file locally, unzip the file

3. Go to the server, stop and uninstall apache service through XAMPP control panel

4. On the downloaded apache folder, copy the libcrypto-1_1-x64.dll, libssl-1_1-x64.dll, and openssl.exe. These can be found in the bin folder

5. Replace files in $location\xampp\apache\bin with the above files

6. Install and start apache service through XAMPP control panel

7. Check if you have the latest version, it can be done by opening XAMPP control panel -> Shell, type command 'openssl' enter, 'version' enter.

In my case, I wanted to keep all of my websites files except for those that were part of the XAMPP installation: dashboard, img, webalizer, xampp, and so forth. I created a backup folder called XAMPP Backup on my desktop and copied all of the files I wanted to keep directly into this folder.

If you select the option to keep your old htdocs folder intact and plan on installing the new version of XAMPP in the same location as the old installation, you will need to move the htdocs folder out of the \xampp\ directory.
