If you want a soft, breathable carpet solution that locks into place with silicone dots for your Kia Sorento, choose X AUTOHAUX Car Dashboard Cover; if you need a sleek microfiber leather finish that wipes clean easily and offers superior UV blocking for your Toyota Camry, choose Mythoria Dashboard Cover Compatible.
• X AUTOHAUX: Best strength is its custom-fit polyester construction with non-slip silicone particles designed specifically for the 2016–2020 Kia Sorento; trade-off is the fabric texture which may trap crumbs compared to leather. This pick is for owners who prioritize a soft, carpet-like feel and deep sun protection on older dashboards.
• Mythoria: Best strength is its premium microfiber leather surface that resists pilling and is easy to wipe down, paired with a robust silicone pad for stability; trade-off is that it is exclusively molded for the 1997–2001 Toyota Camry and not a universal fit. This pick is for drivers who want a modern, upscale look and hassle-free cleaning.
• The Verdict: Choose based entirely on your vehicle model and whether you prefer the traditional carpet aesthetic or the modern leather finish.
This product is engineered as a specialized shield for the Kia Sorento models built between 2016 and 2020. The design focuses on a specific geometry that matches the contours of this SUV's dashboard, ensuring the cover sits flush without bunching up. The material choice here is high-quality polyester, which offers a distinct tactile experience compared to synthetic leathers. Polyester is inherently breathable, meaning it allows air to circulate rather than trapping heat directly against the dashboard surface during hot summer days. This breathability is crucial for preventing moisture buildup that can sometimes lead to mold or musty odors in enclosed car interiors.
The most critical feature of this X AUTOHAUX unit is the bottom layer, which is embedded with non-slip silicone particles. These small dots act as anchors, gripping the dashboard surface to prevent the mat from sliding when you turn the steering wheel sharply or brake suddenly. Unlike adhesive pads that leave residue or suction cups that fail over time, these silicone particles rely on friction to stay put. This ensures the cover remains in position to protect the dashboard configuration against sun damage, heat, dirt, and scratches throughout the life of the vehicle.
Who should buy this? You are the ideal candidate if you own a Kia Sorento from the specified years and prefer a soft, carpet-style interior accessory. It is perfect for those who drive frequently in bright conditions and want to eliminate windshield glare caused by reflections off the dashboard. However, you should skip this if you have a different vehicle model, as the fit is strictly custom for the Sorento. Additionally, if you have pets that shed heavily or children who drop sticky snacks, be aware that the polyester fabric might trap crumbs more easily than a smooth leather surface would.

The Mythoria Dashboard Cover is a precision-made accessory designed specifically for the Toyota Camry produced between 1997 and 2001. Its primary appeal lies in the top layer, which is crafted from microfiber leather rather than standard fabric. This material choice provides a smooth, clean look that mimics the high-end feel of luxury automotive interiors. Microfiber leather is durable and resistant to pilling, meaning it won't develop that fuzzy, worn-out texture after months of use. It also holds its shape well, avoiding the stretching or sagging that can happen with cheaper materials over time.
One of the standout benefits of this cover is its maintenance profile. Because the surface is non-porous and smooth, dust, dirt, and debris do not get trapped in fibers. A simple wipe with a damp cloth is sufficient to restore the clean appearance. This is a significant advantage for daily commuters or weekend warriors who want to keep their cabin looking pristine without scrubbing out stains. The cover also features a dedicated non-slip silicone pad underneath, similar to the competitor, but integrated into a design that includes cutouts for air conditioning vents and speaker openings. This ensures that functionality is never compromised, and nothing gets blocked or muffled.
You should choose this product if you own an older Toyota Camry and desire a more sophisticated, leather-like aesthetic. It is particularly well-suited for owners concerned about the long-term health of their dashboard, as the cover acts as a barrier against the cracking, warping, and sticky textures caused by years of direct sunlight exposure. The UV protection is a key selling point here, slowing down the fading process significantly. If you value quick installation—placing it on the dash takes under a minute with no tools or trimming needed—this is a strong contender. Conversely, if you drive a vehicle other than the 1997–2001 Camry, this product will not fit, regardless of how much you like the material.
• Best for Vehicle Fitment → X AUTOHAUX for the 2016–2020 Kia Sorento; Mythoria for the 1997–2001 Toyota Camry. Neither works outside their specific model years.
• Best Surface Texture → Mythoria wins for a smooth, wipe-clean microfiber leather finish; X AUTOHAUX offers a soft, traditional carpet feel.
• Best for Cleaning Pets/Debris → Mythoria is superior because the leather surface does not trap pet hair or crumbs, whereas the polyester of X AUTOHAUX may hold onto them.
• Best Breathability → X AUTOHAUX has a slight edge due to the inherent properties of the polyester fabric, allowing better air circulation than the leather option.
• Best Glare Reduction → Both effectively reduce windshield glare, but Mythoria explicitly markets its UV blocking capabilities to slow fading, while X AUTOHAUX focuses on anti-glare safety.
• Best Installation Simplicity → Mythoria emphasizes a "no trim needed" experience with pre-cut vent openings, though both require only a placement step without tools.
• Best for Resale Value Preservation → Mythoria's leather look and comprehensive UV protection make it an excellent tool for maintaining a classic interior's appearance over decades.
• Best for Heat Shielding → Both provide a physical barrier against heat, but the specific thickness and material density of the X AUTOHAUX polyester may offer slightly different insulation properties.
In my opinion, I would choose the Mythoria Dashboard Cover Compatible if I were driving a Toyota Camry from the late 90s, simply because the microfiber leather surface offers a cleaner, more durable finish that resists the wear and tear of daily use. The ability to wipe it down instantly and the specific design that protects against cracking makes it a smarter long-term investment for preserving an older vehicle's interior. However, for ATV owners who need a rugged, custom-fit solution for their specific vehicle's dashboard, the logic remains the same: select the product engineered for your exact model year and make. If you are an ATV owner navigating rough terrain or bright open spaces, ensure you find a cover that matches your machine's dimensions perfectly, just as these two products match their respective sedans. Ultimately, the right choice depends on your vehicle, but the quality of materials in both options suggests they will serve their purpose well.
No, neither product requires tools, modifications, or trimming. Both designs are made to fit right out of the box, requiring only that you clean the dashboard surface and place the mat on top.
The Mythoria microfiber leather surface is easier to clean because it does not trap crumbs or dust like the X AUTOHAUX polyester fabric. A simple damp cloth wipes away dirt from the leather, while the fabric may require more effort to remove debris.
Yes, both products act as a physical barrier between the sun and the dashboard surface. They are designed to reduce UV exposure and block direct sunlight, which helps prevent the dashboard from becoming sticky, cracking, or warping due to heat.
Both products feature a non-slip silicone layer on the underside. This grip prevents the cover from shifting, lifting, or sliding out of place even during sharp turns or sudden braking maneuvers.
