This policy describes how the X Unfollower browser extension ("the extension") handles information. The extension is operated by ExtensionsFox. Contact us at help@extensionsfox.com.
The extension helps you review accounts you follow on X and unfollow the ones you choose. It is not affiliated with X Corp.
What the extension does with your X account
The extension runs on x.com while you are logged in. It uses your existing X session to load your Following list, look up public profile details such as follower count and last post, and unfollow accounts you select.
That traffic is sent to X, not to us. We do not receive your Following list, the accounts you unfollow, your posts, or your direct messages. We never ask for your X password.
To make those requests, the extension reads request headers from your own X page, including the session credentials X already uses in that browser. Those headers are stored in the extension's local storage on your device and are sent only back to x.com. They are not uploaded to our servers.
Information stored on your device
The extension saves the following in Chrome's local storage on your browser:
- A random install ID created by the extension. This is not your X username.
- Whether the install is marked as Pro.
- How many free unfollows you have used.
- Your filter settings, such as follower range and inactive days.
- The X user IDs you add to the protect list, stored under your X handle so those accounts are skipped.
- Timing settings used to pause between unfollows.
- The X request headers and Following request URL described above, so the list can be loaded and an unfollow can be sent.
This information stays on your device until you clear the extension's data or uninstall it.
Information sent to us
We receive information only in these cases:
- Pro status check. The extension sends the random install ID and the app ID to https://api.extensionsfox.com to check whether that install has an active subscription. It does not send your X username or your Following list.
- Restore a purchase. If you choose "Change token" and submit your email address and order ID, those two values are sent to our server to find the matching subscription and attach it to this install. We use them only for that purpose.
- Checkout. If you buy Pro, you are taken to https://extensionsfox.com/checkout. Payment is processed by Paddle. The extension does not collect or store your card number. Paddle's own privacy policy applies to the payment.
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising. The extension does not include a third-party analytics or advertising service.
How long we keep it
Information in the extension stays in your browser until you remove the extension or clear its storage.
If you purchase Pro, we keep the subscription record, including the install ID and, when you restore a purchase, the email address and order ID you submitted, for as long as needed to provide the subscription, handle billing questions, and meet legal record requirements.
Your choices
Uninstall the extension to remove the data stored in it.
To ask us to delete a subscription record tied to your install ID, email, or order ID, email help@extensionsfox.com. We will delete it unless we must keep a limited record for payment disputes, fraud prevention, or the law.
Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy when the extension changes. The date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
