I wasn't too sure of this helicopter at first, but the more I fly it, the better it handles. Practice helps I guess. It took me some time to figure out how to add new liveries to it, but that's figured out now and I'm working on a few new liveries for it. Big huge thanks to Joe Rowe for his help in that endeavor. He did warn me that this isn't an easy helicopter to repaint and he wasn't kidding. There's an interesting spot where the tail boom meets the fuselage that seems to jump and distort any lines that cross that area.

The Bell 206 holds a special place in my heart because it was the one I learned to fly simulator helicopters on, with MS Flight Sim 2004. The instructors at Hovercontrol really did help a lot teaching me to go from a complete novice to someone who almost looks like I know what I'm doing. Of course, the moment I got this helicopter, I had to recreate my first repaint, the infamous Lawn Dart of Hovercontrol fame. I also had to personalize the iPhone picture in the cockpit.
May I ask, How do you move the RPM?, It's not literally moving when I swipe it left or right, I've activated the helicopter and I'm trying to make it go full throttle by using the RPM and it's not moving, and by the way, your model design of this helicopter is 10/10, Keep up the great work.
Edit: I just realized that I commented on the review section, and not in the comments section. I calibrated all my controls, and it still seems to be an issue even with a separate profile for the Bell 206. When I increase throttle, the helicopter rolls left / right / forward / aft, and the only way for me to stop the dynamic rollover is to reduce collective. I can PM you with my Log.txt file if you'd like. I have the experimental model on, but it was an issue on X-Plane 11.35. I'm currently running the most recent version.
I love this helicopter... Great to fly and great to paint... It is nicely detailed for a freeware one, even for a payware one I am looking forward to creating lots of new liveries for it; have done a few already...
a beautiful helicopter, i love it, thank you very much for this fantastic work. i put the collective on the throttle of the joystick, i didn't like the solution with wing sweep, the collective had to be operated with the function buttons with this solution. to start the engine i use the keys ctrl + shift + e, not optimal, but it works. you need some practice to land the helicopter properly. the autopilot is great.
Such an iconic helicopter, where to even start. Great looking bird, and they served so long, and with so many countries that the repaint options could be endless. It took a couple minutes for me to get a handle on it, but then again, it's not a little Bell Jet Ranger. This thing is the size of an RV with rotors. Naturally, the first thing I had to do with this helicopter, is repaint it for the USS Nimitz. It took a bit of trial and error, but it now has a livery for the helicopter in the movie, "Final Countdown."
Wonderful job on the Sea King! I can now use it regularly in XP12. As previously mentioned the ONLY issue is the governor. I was looking around in the X-Plane planemaker area and there was mentioned that there will (potentially) be a rotor governor in a later release of planemaker, which would help a lot! Nonetheless, it works well and I (and many other people in x-planeland) really appreciate your efforts. Byron

Robinson R44 is a popular training helicopter as it is inexpensive, but is hard to control. In simulations, expense does not matter. People trying a helicopter in FlightGear for the first time should try one of the other ones before the R44, unless they have a specific reason to. (FG 2019)
