Zero Tolerance Rule

WYHA has adopted a zero tolerance policy. Abusive and/or aggressive language and behavior by spectators, parents, coaches or players will not be tolerated.

Check In

There will be a check-in table on Friday evening between 5:30-7:30 pm and Saturday morning starting at 7:30 am.

Please have your Team Manager check-in with the Tournament Director before your first game.

Eligibility

USA Hockey’s 8U Mite recommendations will be followed.

This tournament is intended for U8 players. Younger players are permitted as long as no safety concern is posed. (Based on the discretion of each team.)

Teams are divided into USA Hockey’s White or Blue Division.

Locker Room

Please have players enter the rink via the player doors on the left (south) side of building.

Each team will be assigned to a locker room at the tournament.

There will be two teams per locker room. Please make every effort to keep locker rooms clean and organized.

There are limited areas for bag storage. Bags, sticks and other equipment are not permitted in the lobby.

Game Day

Teams are expected to be ready to play 15 minutes prior to game time. Each team will have a three-minute warm up period.

Games will be played on half ice.

Games will consist of three 16:30 minute run time periods with a one minute intermission between periods.

Each team is allowed four skaters and one goalie per 1:30 minute shift.

A face off will start each period and a horn will sound for each line change.

On-ice coaches/Refs shall neutralize the puck until line changes are (mostly) complete; e.g. picking up the puck and tossing it to a neutral area of the ice.

In the instance of an uneven line change, players not changing up must skate to their team’s bench location and tag up prior to resuming play.

In the instance of a goaltender covering the puck, the on-ice coach/Ref shall throw a new puck into a neutral corner of the ice, and then retrieve the puck from the goalie.

After each goal, the on-ice coach/ref will toss a new puck behind the net where the goal was just scored. The scoring team must tag up to their own goal before pressuring the puck.

Each team will be allowed one on-ice coach. Coaches must wear helmets on the ice.

There will be no USAH officials. Wildcat Peewee and Bantam players will be used on the ice to help facilitate play.

Every player will receive a participation medal and have his/her name announced at the end of his/her final game.
