I am a noob when it comes to technology. My daughter is interested in photoshop as she's fascinated with all the youtube tutorials. Can someone tell me if the laptop specs posted below fit the requirements for the latest version and if not then which version should i purchase?

I need to transfer my CS6 upgrade and, I assume, my original CS5 Windows versions of Photoshop to my new laptop that has no disc drive. This feature takeaway is increasingly common in new laptops, so I thought this would be an easy search, but I got nothing. Anyone out there know a practical way that doesn't involve ripping a disc? If ripping a disc is my only option, then what is the easiest and cheapest way to do that?

If you already have the upgrade disks from adobe then you could buy a USB version of DVD drive and this can be used to install your software. Alternatively, if you have access to a machine with the CD/DVD drive then you can copy the entire CD/DVD to a USB flash/Pen drive and use this to install your software.

I find it hard to believe that your new laptop has no disk drive. I can not believe it boots off some network device. It is quit normal to download or copy Photoshop installation files to a Laptops internal hard disk or ssd using an external DVD or network shared. Then install Photoshop from the copied or downloaded installation files. I haven't installed Photoshop from CD or DVD in many years. Normally you do not need to copy prior versions of Photoshop to do an upgrade. You will need to be able to enter your upgrade eligible version of Photoshop serial number.

Does it make any difference Optical Disk CD, DVD, BluRay, memory stick, hard disk, sd, solid state disk, flash menory etc all contain File systems some removable media may be read only. Applications are installed from files they can be local or remote. As long as the laptop can connect to a network applications can be installed into its file system where ever it may reside as long as it is read/write and has the required free space.

I just followed this process over the past 2 days, moving CS6 from an old Macbook that had a disc drive, to a new Macbook Pro that does not have a disc drive. I wasn't able to install directly from the USB stick from some reason, but that might also be possible. For my case, once I copied all files to the the new laptop and installed from there, it worked.

I've bought a new laptop, but my (admittedly rather old) version of Photoshop 5.5 won't install - it's a PC with Windows 10, but my old laptop had been upgraded to Win 10 and the program did work on that.

Anyways, try copying the photoshop cd contents to your drive and then try to install by right clicking on the _________ in the 1__________folder and click on 2____________________.

Is the hard drive still working on your old laptop? I had an old version of Framemaker that only worked with older versions of windows. I ended up trashing the computer, but keeping the HD, and I connected it to a new computer, and Framemaker worked with Win 10. Might work with PS 5.5.

If you still have access to your old laptop with Photoshop installed and working, proceed from step 4 onwards, locate the Photoshop folder (as explained above, and copy the same things to a USB drive/key, and transfer to your new laptop.

I need to download my already purchased photoshop onto my new lap top. I cannot figure out how to re-download. It has been a couple years since my purchase but I am not looking to buy the new version. I am used to having a box with a CD in it...GRRR...any help much appreciated.

Thank you so much for your reply! That was much further than I got with it all in trying to find the download link. I just tried that and unfortunately got an error 404 I need photoshop CS3. I have my serial number!

Be careful. I just looked up the specs of the HP Spectre 360 2 in 1 some versions do not meet the current system requirements of Photoshop. Photoshop now requires a GPU with 2GB dedicated VRAM . The HP laptop you mention is sold with NVidia GTX GPU, but it is also sold with integrated Intel UHD graphics. The latter shares main system RAM rather than having dedicated VRAM.

I see the wording has been changed Conrad. Are you able to use 3D functions on the latest version with the integrated processor on your laptop Windows system? System requirements on older versions (e.g v19.x) refer to the minimum requirement of 512MB dedicated VRAM, with 2GB recommended, and also 3D functionality being disabled on GPUs without 512MB VRAM.

Im a 2d animation student and im looking for a budget laptop that could also run 3d apps like blender. Photoshop uses a lot of ram so my laptop lags very often when i use it with other apps. I've done a lot of research of laptops but found MSI GF63 from these reviews -budget-laptop-for-photoshop/

A 2-in-1 laptop can also be very advantageous, as it combines the fluid editing benefits of a graphics tablet with your laptop, though these tend to be less powerful than a larger, design-optimised laptop.

This is entirely down to the personal preferences of each photographer. Many choose MacBook Pro devices, as they are some of the best-optimized laptops on the market for creative professionals. Windows-based laptops and 2-in-1 devices have come a long way, but Apple still reigns as the top choice.

When we test laptops for Photoshop, all-round performance is pretty important. For starters, a high-quality screen with decent resolution makes all the difference, though the bigger you go, the more you compromise portability.

With that in mind, we consider factors including pixel density, colour accuracy, contrast and more, to decide how well a screen performs for image editing. As for CPU and GPU performance, to an extent it will depend on your precise workflows, for instance the filters and effects you use, how critical each element is. Modern chips tend to be known quantities. However, laptop performance even with the same specs can vary wildly due to thermal properties. So, we test for both processor and graphics performance to make sure you'll get the grunt the specs imply.

We also assess ergonomics, build and usability, including keyboard quality, chassis rigidity, trackpad response and more to build up a practical picture of how well a laptop performs in the real world rather than merely benchmarks.

Finally, battery life is critical for every laptop and it's also a measure by which different models can differ dramatically, both from each other and from the manufacturer claims. So, we pay close attention to real-world battery life each laptop delivers.

Our reviewer loved this laptop so much that he said it could "handle anything you could possibly ask of it". With a whole host of powerful tech packed inside it, we also love the glossy screen. Sure, the battery life is a little short but if you have the means of charging it up it's a real winner.

3_______________

Apple's latest MacBook Air is simply stupendous. The 13-inch screen is a stunner, the chassis beautifully built and the M2 chip provides ridiculous performance for what is an entry-level laptop by Apple's standards. The battery life also blows most Windows laptops completely away.

4_______________

This thin and light laptop does it all. Our review calls it a "jack of all trades" and comments on the "spectacular screen". It isn't cheap, but it's not the priceiest either, it has good connectivity and is tremendously light for a 16-incher. In short, it's an excellent Windows option that almost holds its own against Apple's competition.

5_______________

I need to upgrade the computer that I use for my photography work. I would like to go more flexible, and wonder if I should get a high-spec laptop than can cover my needs both going around and at home (where I will use larger external screens) - or if that would compromise to much performance. 5376163bf9
