Position Title: Chief Of Operations — Empowerment Media Group Position Type: Independent Contractor (1099) (Performance-Based Retainer or Equity-Eligible) Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) / Executive Advisory Board Department: Executive Operations | Media Production & Brand Development Location:Remote / Hybrid Flexible Industry Focus: Independent Publishing | Media Marketing | Talent Representation | Event Production Position SummaryThe Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Empowerment Media Group serves as the senior executive strategist responsible for the coordinated operations of the company’s multi-faceted media service divisions. This includes independent book publishing, in-house magazine production, event and seminar logistics, and talent/publicist services. The COO operates as the lead integrator between visionary direction and systemic execution—balancing creative development, service delivery, revenue scaling, and administrative cohesion. As an independent contractor, the COO brings executive-level discipline, entrepreneurial insight, and media fluency to drive the company’s growth and operational excellence. What You’ll Do
Division Oversight – Direct publishing, magazine production, events, and talent management.
Publishing Management – Lead editorial-to-distribution workflows, author relations, and royalty processes.
Event Leadership – Produce networking events, seminars, and branded experiences from concept to execution.
Talent & PR Systems – Oversee publicity campaigns, media placements, and talent representation.
Financial Stewardship – Track budgets, revenue streams, and reporting dashboards.
Team & Vendor Management – Supervise cross-functional teams and manage vendor partnerships.
What We’re Looking For
8+ years in operations leadership (media, publishing, events, or entertainment).
Strong strategic planning and cross-team leadership skills.
Deep knowledge of publishing, media production, or PR systems.
Financial and data analysis experience for ROI and service growth.
Familiarity with Trello, Airtable, Google Workspace, CRM systems.
Contract and IP management literacy (preferred).
