MESSAGING CONGRESS

When the Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lies to Congress in a budget request there needs to be CONSEQUENCES.

A central misrepresentation in the Bureau of Land Management's approach: introducing cattle into a healthy ecosystem, watching it deteriorate, and then proposing to resolve the issue by removing native horses while increasing cattle numbers.

When Congress ACCEPTS false claims as fact it is aiding and abetting the fraud.  Funding the Fraud in both cases involves, either committing perjury or being complicit to fraud, the public is obligated to demand CONSEQUENCES.

They are aimed to inform representatives of BLM Wild Horse and Burro programs, inefficient programs, deficiencies or deception.  Congress has oversight power through budgetary constraint to place programs on hold while they are evaluated and improved;  to suspend or curtail failed programs;  and to require compliance with statues.

THE GOAL

Better Outcomes for Wild Horses and Burros.

Because the lawful basis which was supposed to protect Wild Horses and Burros is blatantly being misused - it's TIME TO MODIFY THE STATUTE  to protect America's Wild Horses and Burros.

TAKE ACTION ON THE SAFE ACT

Under the directionn of Rep. Tracey Mann (R-KS), Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry has NOT moved H.R. 3475 forward to the AG Committee.  The Beef Checkoff  is being utilized to unlawfully divert taxpayer dollars in lobbying efforts to Defeat the SAFE Act.

An approach based on using amendments (riders) to funding legislation to mandate change within agencies involved in managing wild horse issues and conditions.

28Jun24 Chairman Tom Cole (TX) cuts 2025 BLM budget.

Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service Wild Horse programs SHOULD be funded at LOWER LEVELS.  Allocations should stipulate improved transparency, adherence to statutory mandates and come with oversight demands.  This message can be customized to suit your thoughts.

Congress has an obligation to investigate and understand the purpose and  impact of funds made available to agencies like the BLM.
