FDR's New Deal to combat the Great Depression had 3 types of programs known as the 3R's. They were relief, recovery and reform. They helped relieve some of the suffering, but did not end the economic depression. It was WWII job creation that ended the depression.
The Scopes Trial in 1925 was a battle between fundamentalism (creationism) versus modernism (evolution). Teacher John Scopes violated the Butler Act of Tennessee prohibiting the teaching of evolution and found guilty.
