the world is full of heartbreak

yet

I still feel the need to share mine

small and slight as it is

a broken bird in the palm of my hand

green blue red whatever color

I would have chosen it

swallowed it whole so I’d glow

from the inside

you would fly to me like a moth

but I’m all empty inside

too selfish and consuming

I've already had too much 

why should I get to have you too
