Who We Are

About East Harris County Empowerment Council

Established in 2008, East Harris County Empowerment Council (EHCEC) exists to provide high quality, innovative programs and services that empower men, women and children to overcome poverty and achieve their full potential. Our goal is to be a resource hub for Harris County's eastern side where more than 75% of grade school children and their families live in potential-crushing poverty. We seek to partner with solutions-oriented, growth-minded and forward-thinking influencers to bring light, hope and dignity to the region.

EHCEC is governed by a five-member board of directors who oversee the strategy and direction of the organization. This volunteer leadership group meets frequently to discuss a host of issues relating to the organization. They are also responsible for financial oversight, governance and being good stewards. The organization is managed by a team that is responsible for enacting the mission of the organization. For more information, please email info@ehcec.org.
