Redeem your gift card in the App Store or the Apple Music app to use for Apple Account purchases. If you've just celebrated a holiday or birthday and you've received an Apple gift card, congrats on the major score! Before you can spend it, you'll need to know how to redeem Apple gift cards. The process is straightforward, and it can be done on virtually any device with a connection to the Apple App Store. 

Once you've redeemed your Apple gift card, you can spend this money on Apple products, apps, subscriptions, games, music, movies, and more. Plus, you can access any digital products you buy across devices that you're signed in with your Apple ID. 

1. Locate the 16-digit code on the back of your gift card. (You may need to peel or scratch off the label first).

2. Open the App Store on your device.

3. At the top right of the "Today" screen, tap the sign-in button, your photo, or your initials.

4. Tap "Redeem Gift Card or Code." (If you don’t see this, sign in with your Apple ID first.)

5. Tap "Use Camera" and follow the instructions on the screen to upload the card info instantly. You can also tap "Enter Code Manually," then follow the instructions on the screen to input the card info yourself.

3. Click on your name or the sign-in button in the sidebar to get to your "Account" page.

4. Select "Redeem Gift Card" in the top-right corner.

5. Select "Use Camera" and follow the instructions on the screen to upload the card info instantly. You can also tap "Enter Code Manually," then follow the instructions on the screen to input the card info yourself.

3. Select "Account" in the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window.

4. Select "Redeem."

5. Follow the instructions on the screen to input the card info.

3. Tap the menu button, then select "Account."

4. Tap "Redeem Gift Card or Code."

5. Enter the 16-digit code. Then tap "Redeem."

1. Open the Wallet app.

2. If you have not added an Apple Account the home screen of your Wallet app, tap the "+" in the upper-right corner and select "Add Apple Account to Wallet."

3. Your current Apple Account balance should appear on the screen. Select "Agree."

4. Your Apple Account should now be accessible from the home screen of the Wallet app. Tap the icon to enlarge.

5. Tap the "..." in the upper-right corner. Select "Redeem."

6. Tap "Use Camera" and follow the instructions on the screen to upload the card info instantly. You can also tap "Enter Code Manually," then follow the instructions on the screen to input the card info yourself.

There are three types of Apple gift cards available:

• Apple gift cards are the most versatile type you can buy. They can be redeemed in person at an Apple store or online at apple.com for hardware, software, or tech accessories. Apple gift cards can also be redeemed in the App Store to buy apps, games, subscriptions to Apple News+, Apple Music, iCloud+, or any other media available in the App Store.

• App Store & iTunes Gift Cards can be redeemed to purchase any digital media in the App Store and on iTunes. This includes subscriptions, apps, games, movies, and music.

• Apple Store Gift Cards can only be used to buy products in Apple retail stores or on apple.com.

 To redeem a gift card that someone emailed to you, open the email and tap or click the Redeem Now button.
