I am field geologist specializing in tectonic geomorphology, earthquake geology, and structural geology. Essentially, I study active faults and folds that shape the Earth's landscape and present earthquake hazards for humans. I use a variety of field-based and remote tools for this work, including mapping, trenching, lidar, geochronology, etc. I teach classes at Western Washington University ranging from introductory geology to field camp, as well as graduate specialty courses.
