Comments: I'm a huge fan of Seaguar fishing line and have used Smackdown as my braid of choice for many years.Something changed when they switched to this new color line.The old Smackdown was green and performed very well.This grey line gets frayed just by running through your guides.This causes weak spots and line failures.I'll keep using their fluorocarbon line but I'm looking elsewhere for braid.

Comments: Complete garbage! I'm a guide and have been using the OG smackdown for years. Beware! This is not the smackdown of yesteryear. I've have more cast offs, break offs, and failed knots in the last 6 months since spooling this new version than I've had in the previous 6 years. When tied to a leader it leaves a weak spot and breaks just above the knot. If you backlash and pick, your line is compromised and gets weak spots, this even if you just use your fingers to clear the backlash. I've had clients with broken hearts. 15 reels spooled with this line, all thrown in the trash after a few months. The grey turns white quickly and frays just from looking at it. If you're into losing lures and big fish this is the line for you.

Comments:Loved the original smackdown. tried 3 different test poundage this yr . Finding that any backlash will leave a weak spot, and any fray is very weak. lost 2 spinnerbaits and broke off 2 nice fish on docks. Not happy . I use FX2 for frogging and Invizix for my flouro,so I am not bashing Seagar. Just be carefull with this line.
