I am a Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Policy (Economics) at Duke University.

My research lies at the intersection of environmental and development economics. I examine the welfare impact of various forest conservation programs in developing countries, mostly in Asia. Specifically, I seek to incorporate economic reasoning into interpreting the deforestation outcome of conservation efforts, and to understand how programs such as payments for ecosystem services affect human nutrition. As an applied economist, I find it important to connect my research with environmental and development policies in the real world, and to contribute an economic perspective to regulators and the general audience.
