WoRMS 2019

2nd International Workshop on Reading Music Systems - 2. Nov. 2019

Welcome

The International Workshop on Reading Music Systems (WoRMS) is a novel workshop that tries to connect researchers who develop systems for reading music, such as in the field of Optical Music Recognition, with other researchers and practitioners that could benefit from such systems, like librarians or musicologists.

After the first successful installation of WoRMS 2018, this year's edition will take place on the 2nd of November 2019 (Saturday) as a satellite event to ISMIR 2019.

The event will be held in the afternoon, from 2pm to 6pm, at the Delft University of Technology.

WoRMS will be organized as a 1/2-day workshop and provides an excellent opportunity to share ideas, discuss current developments and shape the future of Optical Music Recognition. We explicitly invite people without a technical background, to participate as well. We would like to promote the diversity of speakers, with each participant getting the opportunity to present his work, discuss current research with the community and foster relationships within the community.

Community Follow-Up

Thanks for joining WoRMS 2019 and hopefully see you next year.

We also want to invite you to join the community by contributing to OMR-Research website, join the Slack Channel, the Github organisation or help us organize WoRMS 2020. In case you are doing research, we also want to advertise the OMR Bibliography which can help you to correctly cite existing research and find recently published articles.

Workshop Format

The workshop will take half a day and consist of multiple sessions. Each speaker will be given 15 minutes to present his or her work (12 minutes presentation, 3 minutes Q&A). Each session is followed by approximately 15 minutes of panel discussion with all speakers from that session, allowing to answer open questions and giving room for discussions.

Venue

WoRMS will be held at the Aula Congress Centre, Delft University of Technology, Mekelweg 5, 2628 CD Delft, Netherlands.
