So I downloaded the new EA desktop app when EA Play came to gamepass yesterday and I tried downloading NFS Heat. I was surprised to see the download speed was going from 400kb/s to 900kb/s. I checked on every other launcher like Epic Games, Steam and even on the xbox app/microsoft store and I was getting 6-10mb/s download speeds on those. Any solutions to fix EA's terrible download speeds. I can't find any anywhere because this app is only new.
Since last week I suddenly have a problem.
- Minecraft & Optifine don't load in the latest versions. (Even when I use forge).
- Minecraft worlds load in very slow and freeze a bit at 100%.
- When in a Minecraft world when in the bottom right says: Saving World. My world starts to freeze and when Saving World finish itself, I will setback to the moment where the saving moment started. While this is happening I can not interact with the world.
Update: I think upping the allocated memory with JVM arguments -Xmx4G -Xms4G in the launchers installation tab helped that the world can catch up with my actions after the save finishes. But still it can be up and over 40s of saving.
Also if the game doesn't load at all in the latest version, why? What is happening then? Frozen loading? Error message? Does this happen with just Minecraft and no OptiFine or Forge? What does the launcher say?
TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
Well, yes, I know what it is, and I even described the cause.
I meant I was confused as to what could cause it to be happening, at least to this severity (the response mentioned an example of 40 seconds). That's why I thought there might be some underlying issue like a very slow CPU (possibly even throttling) or other resource bottleneck like RAM or storage for some reason.
That's pretty much the only de-sync issue I recall dealing with (not counting the moon and sun skipping back when first loading a burst of chunks like on world or dimension load), and even that's rare and seemed to occur only with an efficiency tool fast clearing something, typically a shovel and dirt, but sometimes a pickaxe and stone. Oddly, netherack breaks faster and I've never seen it happen with it for some reason. But it's also been a long time since I've seen it at all.
The big one I used to see was the message about the time being wrong and the server being overloaded and behind (maybe the higher render distance back then was part of why) but even that I seldom if ever see now.
Logs seem pretty sparse so I'm not sure if that information is elsewhere now.
I'm experiencing insane lag spikes every 5 seconds in my single player world, it's literally making it unplayable! Before you start replying saying I need to allocate more RAM & install optifine, i've already done that.
A good rule of thumb for minecraft is the greater the RAM that's assigned the more stable it is, the lower the faster (to a point, too low and it starts to slow down again, this only applies if the amount you're assigning is already enough). That's why Maxis010 suggested 2-3GB, that's typically a good amount for a client.
You set the amount of RAM a java program can use when it runs, in the case of the server on minecraft it's the -Xmx (max assignable memory) -Xms (initially assigned memory) in the batch file, and in the case of the Technic launcher for you client it's the convenient little gear in the top right, pick your pack, click the gear, set a value from the dropdown and hit save.
I'm using the technic launcher and i clicked the gear but the max i can set it to is 1GB then 768MB and 512MB. The suggested is 2 to 3 GB as you say but that's way above what it will let me set. I know i have 6GB of ram so idk why it wont let me set it higher.
3) It was pointed out in another thread ('?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>) that for some reason the configuration in the Launacher has been overwritten. While the launcher said it would be using 4 GByte RAM, only 1 GByte was used in reality.
Click the cog at the top right of the launcher and then increase RAM to at least 1GB but preferably 2GB (no higher than 3GB if you feel you must go higher though, you'll run into more problems if you do)
Found a work around for that.
Look in your 14.11.18.txt doc, There you will see a web site address. Copy and past without the " marks into your browser. It will download auto. Copy and paste file into SnapShot launcher folder and extract say yes to overwrite.
In the online gaming world, lag is classified as a visible delay between the action of a player and the reaction of the server. This means a noticeable delay between your command on the controller or keyboard to the response on-screen.
What you want is a low ping (ideally 30-50ms). If you manage to get ping speeds under 30ms, consider yourself super lucky. Ping speeds above 50ms to 100ms are somewhat slow but not ideal for online gaming. Anything above is not acceptable.
The feasibility of being virtually present in any part of the world enables online gamers to connect to a location where the gaming server is located. By connecting to a location near the gaming server, you significantly improve your latency and minimize lags in most cases.
Surprisingly, if I launch an application then immediately Sleep the machine, the application will be there immediately when the machine wakes up. (Is this the world's first recorded instance of something working better on Linux *with* sleep?)
I recently partitioned my home network differently, adding an isolated guest network. While troubleshooting tonight, the slow launch issue suddenly disappeared and I realized my laptop had accidentally jumped over to the new Guest network, which bypasses the Pi-hole.
I've never seen something download so slow. I have fast internet, and the download started fast/normal, but now it is at 10mb/sec that drops to 0kb, hangs there then goes back up and down again. The files remaining is 11,531. in the last hour and a half that number has gone down by 4. I switched to the google DNS, and nothing changed. I have closed and restarted the launcher 5 times now. It has never done this in the past when I wanted to play, it was usually one of the faster games to update.
Now, @shooj what is a bit concerning is I can understand the Launcher app needing cache/cookies for handling your account login. But why then does the Zwift app itself get affected by the cache/cookies too? Is there some kind of tracking Zwift is doing when we launch into one of the worlds??? And why does it take MULTIPLE cache clearing and re-installations to get this working again? This all started going sideways for me when the March update got released.
I'm having this weird texture losses/slow loadings in game as you can see down below but my GTA singleplayer runs smooth in maximized settings very well. I know RageMP isn't the best optimized launcher but is there a way to fix this? It goes crazy in city but while driving in the county it doesn't bother me that much.
GTX 1060 3GB
Ryzen R3 1300x
16GB Vengeance Dual Ram 2400mhz
GTA V and RAGEMP both in SSD
Still doing my tests. So far I had a suspect where this problem pulls up during the server peak times, but today I've noticed that isn't like I thought, even if the server has 100 players online all the guis are still slow to show up. I have no solution, no idea why this happens.
A lot of people are using Battle.net launcher to download and play games such as Blizzard. However, many players report that they encounter various problems such as Battle.net stuck on initializing, Battle.net waiting on another installation, Blizzard stuck on initializing, and so forth.
The connection issue is one of the most common reasons that cause Battle.net stuck on initializing. Many connection issues including slow bandwidth, BNS cache, unstable Internet can trigger the Blizzard app stuck on initializing.
Accumulated Battle.net cache can slow down the loading process and cause Battle.net initializing. Besides, these redundant app files can get corrupted or incomplete. So, we recommend that you clear the cache on a regular basis.
