# Privacy Policy
**App:** World Cup Tracker 2026 (`com.adrjdev.worldcuptracker`)
**Last updated:** June 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how World Cup Tracker 2026 ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the App. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We built the App to be a lightweight companion for following the FIFA World Cup 2026 — match schedules, results, group standings, and top scorers. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask you for your name, email address, or any other directly identifying personal information.
## Information We Collect
**Information you provide directly**
The App does not collect personal information that you type in. There is no sign-up, login, or profile. Choices you make inside the App — such as marking a team as a favorite or toggling settings like dark mode and notifications — are stored only on your device and are not sent to us.
**Information stored on your device**
To work offline and load quickly, the App keeps the following on your device using local storage (a local database and preferences file):
- Your favorite teams.
- Your app settings (for example, dark mode and notification preferences).
- A cached copy of publicly available sports data, such as fixtures, scores, standings, and top scorers.
This information stays on your device and is removed if you clear the App's data or uninstall the App.
**Information collected automatically by third-party services**
The App uses third-party services for advertising and (optionally) analytics and crash reporting. These services may automatically collect certain information from your device, including:
- A device advertising identifier (such as the Android Advertising ID).
- General device and technical information, such as device model, operating system version, language, and approximate region.
- IP address.
- App usage and diagnostic information, such as which screens are viewed, interactions with ads, and crash logs.
This information is collected and processed by those third parties in accordance with their own privacy policies, which are linked below.
## How We Use Information
We use the limited information described above to:
- Provide core features such as match schedules, live and final scores, standings, and top scorers.
- Remember your preferences and favorite teams on your device.
- Display advertisements, including the ability to show non-personalized or personalized ads.
- Understand how the App is used and improve its stability and performance (where analytics and crash reporting are enabled).
- Maintain the security and proper functioning of the App.
We do not sell your personal information.
## Sports Data Source
Match data, standings, and scorers are retrieved from a third-party sports data provider, football-data.org. When the App requests this data, it does not transmit any personal information about you to that provider; it only requests publicly available competition information. Your use of that data within the App is subject to football-data.org's terms and policies.
## Advertising
The App displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may use device identifiers and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized (interest-based) ads where permitted.
You can control ad personalization at any time:
- On Android, open **Settings > Google > Ads** to reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization.
- You may also be presented with a consent choice in regions where it is required (for example, the European Economic Area and the UK).
Opting out of personalized ads does not remove ads from the App; it means the ads you see will be less tailored to you.
## Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- **Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads** — advertising. https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
- **Google Play services** — core platform functionality. https://policies.google.com/privacy
- **Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics** (if enabled in the released build) — usage analytics and crash reporting by Google. https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- **football-data.org** — sports data provider. https://www.football-data.org/
We encourage you to review these policies to understand how each service handles data.
## Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your information. Information may be shared only in these limited ways:
- With the third-party service providers listed above, strictly so they can perform their functions (such as serving ads or reporting crashes).
- If required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
- To protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or us.
## Data Retention
Data stored locally on your device remains until you clear the App's storage or uninstall the App. Information collected by third-party services is retained according to those providers' own retention policies.
## Data Security
We rely on the security measures of the Android platform and of the reputable third-party services we use. Data transmitted between the App and its data providers is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
## Children's Privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
## Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to access, correct, or delete information, and to opt out of certain processing.
Because the App does not collect directly identifying personal information and stores your preferences only on your device, you can exercise the most important controls directly:
- Delete locally stored data by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling the App.
- Manage ad personalization and reset your advertising ID through your device settings.
- For requests relating to data handled by third-party providers, please refer to their privacy policies, or contact us and we will assist where we are able.
## International Users
The third-party services used by the App may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. By using the App, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in those countries, which may have different data protection rules than your jurisdiction.
## Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be communicated through the App or the app store listing. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
