Workshop ECAI 2020. Santiago de Compostela
Monday 7th September (10:00)
https://www.underline.io/events/24/sessions?eventSessionId=271
There are several ways to combine Art and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The most direct may be the generation of artistic works (painting, music, etc.) by computers. Another relationship occurs when AI is the matter with which art is made, such as oil or marble. In this case, the artist uses algorithms to conceive new processes, visualizations or narratives. Art also uses AI as the subject of its production and expresses a vision, often critical.
In this Workshop we propose an alternative way of relating Art and AI: to value the creativity of artists to build new applications. The aim is to take advantage of a point of convergence that has had (separately) success both in AI and, above all, in Art: the visualization of data. The need to use different visualizations in AI systems appears when seeking to communicate to users results that have a significant emotional burden.
The theme of the workshop will be to share in the ECAI the research carried out at this crossroads: intelligent systems that use images (or sounds) to communicate emotions, experiences and knowledges.
