As a starting point I have distilled a formula for my perfect workout song. In a nutshell: it must be highly energetic, very pop-sounding and with a huge dose of attitude. Unlike popular opinion, I actually prefer Pop, Electronic or Hip Hop songs over Rock to exercise to; and as guilty as possible please. Sprinkle in some empowering lyrics and we are right on the mark.

Omg girl we could swap ipods! Love your list! About a month ago I posted a recent playlist of mine. For me, the more raunchy, the better when it comes to playlists for working out. Something about the raunch factor just gets me going and I work out harder. haha! :)

It does for me, which is great because music happens to be a huge part of my life. My day job involves producing floating music festivals on cruise ships (watch a spur-the-moment commercial I made on one of our cruises last week), I go to a few concerts a month, I play both guitar and piano, and I have a playlist in my iTunes for practically every occasion: for work, while studying or reading, when at a party, while falling asleep, and most importantly for working out.

Felt inspired by this post and all the comments to make a running playlist, added apeshit to it, listened to my new playlist for the first time today while out running, apeshit came on, I got super excited, ran SO FAST (for me), was thinking how awesome it was and looking forward to rocking my meet playlist during my next 5K race, but then like 5 minutes later I had to walk because I wore myself out. Haha. New runner problems.

There are 17 volumes of this running podcast plus a three hour marathon playlist too! The host, John Richards, includes runners quotes between the songs. It has gotten me through many training runs and races. Good luck with the half marathon.

I am just now reading this post and all the comments and i love them all! Feel free to follow my Running playlist, which is ridiculous and all over the place but it is all suepr upbeat so it is really motivating!

My current routine has me working out usually six times per week; sometimes five depending on how busy my schedule is. I really rely on working out as a stress reliever and as a way to combat anxiety. Adding in BBG has actually made me a person that works out in the morning now which I can hardly believe! Getting in the workouts is important to me so I ensure I allow time to do so and sometimes that means getting up extra early to fit them in. The commitment is so important!

Happy Throwback Thursday!! Check out my Throwback Thighs routine!

I had so much fun compiling songs from my FAVE, Michael Jackson!!! As well as Prince, Madonna, etc. Go listen to it on newblogilates.wpengine.com and learn about my throwback giveaway too! ?

Fall Out Boy is my favorite band because of their totally danceable music and the incredible lyrics

They read like poetry! Whenever their songs come up on a playlist it always helps me to push harder through a workout. I end up feeling like a total kickbutt rockstar!!!

The final stages of your workout can be tough, so varying the tempo of your songs as you near the end can help keep you motivated. Tracks that have a tempting beat and empowering lyrics can help you stay strong until the end.

These songs will give you a dose of energy on the days you need motivation the most. You can find the Sweat Challenge playlist, plus challenge program playlists from some of the Sweat trainers on Apple Music and Spotify.

You definitely have set off the lunk alarm a handful of times at a Planet Fitness if you listen to EDM when you workout. How was that dry scoop of pre-workout in the parking lot earlier? In all seriousness, you probably bench as much as the Rock, and I am jealous of your work ethic.

For most athletes, music is a necessity for a motivating workout session. While most gyms and workout classes provide overhead music, research now shows working out to your own playlist might yield better results.

People always say that getting yourself to the gym is the hardest part of exercising but motivating yourself to get through your workout is arguably just as difficult. Most people resort to a playlist of their favorite hype-up songs to get them through their daily dose of exercise, but there are many reasons why it might be worth tuning into a podcast for your next sweat-session.

Professor Costas, author of Applying Music in Exercise and Sport, who has also previously worked with the likes of international athlete Dai Greene and England rugby player Ben Foden, has devoted his career to researching the effects of music in sport and exercise, and how a carefully curated playlist can positively affect performance. This body of work is what guided his analysis on Zanna, and by reviewing her favourite playlists and workout routines, he has pulled together a list of top tips that anyone can use to create the perfect workout playlist, whatever their goals.

Zanna tried and tested her playlist on our lightweight, wireless earphones, TRACK+ earphones, which are splash proof (IPx4), making them the perfect match for anyone with an active lifestyle. TRACK+ combine the freedom of great sound with innovative four-step adjustable noise cancelling that tunes out the background, and CityMix Smart, which automatically adapts to your surroundings. With these earphones, music lovers are well equipped to listen to their favourite tunes when they work out, without surrounding noise disrupting the experience. fd2cebbec0
