WorkBuddy Privacy Policy

WorkBuddy ("we," "us," "our," or "the App") is a productivity and wellness companion application. We respect your privacy and are committed to transparency about our data practices. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. The App does not require account creation, registration, login, email, phone number, or any personally identifiable information to function.

2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is created and stored exclusively on your device:

• Salary and work schedule configuration (monthly salary, work hours, break times)

• Exercise preferences (reminder interval, daily exercise limit)

• Exercise completion records for the current day

• Language and currency display preferences

• Chat messages (current session only, not persisted between app launches)

• Widget display preferences (salary visibility toggle)

None of this data is transmitted to us or any third party. It remains entirely on your device and under your control.

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses one third-party service for AI chat functionality:

• Provider: Replicate, Inc. (replicate.com)

• Model: Meta Llama 3 70B Instruct

• Purpose: Generate conversational responses when the user initiates a chat

• Data sent: User's chat message text only — no device IDs, no personal identifiers

• Data retention: Not retained — messages are processed in real-time and discarded after response generation

All communication with this service uses HTTPS encryption.

4. App Privacy Label

WorkBuddy's App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected." The App does not collect any of the following: contact info, health and fitness data, financial info, location, sensitive info, contacts, user content, browsing history, search history, identifiers, usage data, or diagnostics.

5. Device Permissions

• Camera: Declared in configuration but not actively used in the current version

• Photo Library: Declared in configuration but not actively used in the current version

• Notifications: Used for local exercise break reminders only — no remote push notification servers are involved

6. Home Screen Widgets and Live Activities

The App provides home screen widgets and Live Activities (Dynamic Island and Lock Screen). Data displayed in widgets, such as salary amount, exercise progress, and motivational messages, is shared between the main app and widget extension through Apple's App Group mechanism. This data stays entirely on your device and is never transmitted externally.

7. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

The App does not use any analytics or crash reporting SDKs, any advertising frameworks or ad networks, any tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or cross-app tracking, or Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework (not needed as no tracking occurs).

8. Children's Privacy

WorkBuddy is suitable for users of all ages (rated 4+). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 years of age or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction. Since the App collects no personal data from any user, it is inherently compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.

9. International Users

Since WorkBuddy does not collect, process, or store any personal data, there is no personal data to manage under GDPR, CCPA, or other data protection regulations. No data processing agreements, data transfer mechanisms, or consent management are required.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

All app data is stored on your device only. To delete all data, simply uninstall the App. You may also use the "Reset Onboarding" option in Settings to clear preferences. Chat messages sent to the AI service are processed in real-time and immediately discarded. No conversation logs are retained by us or the AI service provider.

11. Security

All network communication with the AI service uses HTTPS/TLS encryption. Local data is protected by Apple's iOS device-level encryption and sandboxing. The App does not implement or require any additional authentication.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above and in the updated app version. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
