Privacy Policy for Work & Count
Effective date: July 9, 2026
Work & Count ("the app") is developed and maintained by Ferenc Gombar ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how the app handles information.
Summary
Work & Count does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There is no account, no sign-up, and no internet connection required to use the app. Everything you enter — workout settings, saved workouts, and your workout history — stays on your device.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, and the app does not have the technical ability to transmit:
- Your name, email address, or any account information (there are no accounts)
- Your location
- Your device's contacts, photos, or microphone/camera data
- Analytics, advertising identifiers, or usage tracking data
- Crash reports or diagnostic data sent to us or any third party
The app does not request internet access permission and does not contain any advertising or analytics SDKs.
Information Stored Locally On Your Device
To let the app function, the following is saved locally on your device only, using standard on-device storage:
- Your workout settings (workout type, duration, rounds, rest times)
- Workouts you choose to save or favorite
- Your local workout history (dates, workout type, duration)
- App preferences (sound on/off, dark mode, text size)
This data is never uploaded anywhere. It stays on your phone and is deleted if you uninstall the app or clear the app's data.
Permissions
The app may keep your screen awake during an active workout (so the timer stays visible) and uses your device's built-in text-to-speech engine to read cues aloud. Neither of these requires access to personal data.
Sharing Your Results
If you choose to use the "Share" feature to share a workout result, the app hands the text to your device's native share sheet (for example, to send it via a messaging app of your choice). We do not see or receive this information — it goes directly from your device to wherever you choose to send it.
Children's Privacy
The app does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data at all.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes in the future (for example, if a paid tier with optional accounts is introduced), we will update this page and revise the effective date above.
