How to Play Wordle
Basic Rules
You have 6 tries to guess a secret 5-letter word
Each guess must be a valid English word
After each guess, you'll see color feedback:
🟩 Green: Letter is correct and in the right place
🟨 Yellow: Letter is in the word but in the wrong spot
⬜ Gray: Letter is not in the word at all
Strategy Tips
Start Strong: Use opening words like SLATE, CRANE, or AUDIO — they include frequent letters
Maximize First Two Guesses: Try different combinations to eliminate or confirm key letters
Watch for Doubles: Repeated letters (like in “SHEEP”) can trip you up — keep them in mind
Think in Patterns: As the board fills in, visualize possible word shapes based on what you know
Eliminate Smartly: Don’t guess blindly — remove impossible letters from future guesses
