1. Overview
Word Connect is a casual word puzzle game designed for players of all ages. This document describes how the app collects, uses, stores, and shares personal and non-personal information, what permissions it requests, and how users can contact the developer or exercise privacy rights. This policy is intended for submission to the Google Play Store and for display inside the app (Privacy Policy / Data safety sections).
2. Data collected
2.1 Information you provide directly
Account / Profile information: If the app offers optional account creation, users may provide an email address and display name. (Account creation is optional.)
Support communications: When users contact support (via email), the message content and any attachments are stored for troubleshooting.
2.2 Automatic and usage data
Gameplay data: level progress, scores, completed puzzles, achievements, and play session duration. Used to provide in-game features, leaderboards, and restore progress.
Device & technical data: device model, OS version, unique device identifiers (ad ID only — see below), language, and locale. Used for analytics and crash reporting.
2.3 Third-party data
Advertising identifiers: We may access the Google Advertising ID (Ad ID) for advertising personalization and campaign measurement. This is not linked to your name or other directly identifying data.
Analytics & crash reporting: We may send aggregated, anonymized usage and crash data to third-party analytics providers.
3. Purpose of data processing
We collect and use data for the following purposes:
Provide core game functionality (save/restore progress, display levels).
Improve and optimize the app (analytics, A/B testing, crash reports).
Support and communicate with users (email support).
Personalize and deliver relevant ads (only if ads are enabled in the app; users can opt out of personalized ads through device settings or Google ad settings).
Process in-app purchases and restore purchases.
4. Data sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal data. We may share data in the following cases:
Service providers: Third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf (analytics, crash reporting, ad networks, payment processors). We require vendors to protect the data and use it only for permitted purposes.
Legal requirements: To comply with legal obligations or to respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of the transaction; affected users will be notified where required.
5. Advertising and monetization
Word Connect may include third-party ads. These partners may collect information to provide personalized or non-personalized ads. To learn more about how to control ad personalization, users can visit Google account ad settings or use device-level ad tracking controls.
If the app offers in‑app purchases, purchases are processed via Google Play billing. We do not receive or store full payment card details; Google handles payment processing.
6. Permissions
The app requests only permissions necessary for the features it provides. Examples (only request what the app uses):
Internet access: required to show ads, sync progress, and use analytics.
External storage (optional): only if the app allows exporting/importing save data or images. This permission is optional and clearly explained to the user before use.
Contacts / social features: Not requested by default. If any social-sharing feature is added, the app asks for explicit consent and explains why it needs access.
Permissions will be requested at runtime in accordance with Android guidelines and users can revoke permissions at any time via system settings.
7. Children's policy
The app is designed for a general audience. If the app targets children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region), we will comply with Google Play's Families policies and applicable child privacy laws (COPPA, GDPR-K). In that case, we will restrict personalized ads and limit data collection to what is strictly necessary.
If you currently intend to target children, please notify us so the policy and implementation can be adjusted accordingly.
8. Data retention and security
We retain user data only as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention).
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse (encryption in transit, secure servers, least-privilege access controls).
9. User rights (GDPR / CCPA style guidance)
Depending on applicable law, users may have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about them.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of their personal data.
Request portability of their data in a machine-readable format.
Object to or restrict processing and opt out of targeted advertising.

10. How to opt out of data collection and personalized ads
Users may disable personalized ads in Google settings or opt out of interest-based ads at the device level.

11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When changes are significant, we will provide prominent notice in the app or via the support email. The “Effective date” at the top will reflect the latest update.
