Caden's The Amazing Digital Circus Verse
As many of those who are now trapped by the circus, Caden was originally someone living on the outside having a normal life.
Caden acted as a software engineer for a larger technology company, helping to code and fix bugs within the operating and software systems of the company's devices and the devices that were being sold.
He was considered to be one of the better people on his team, leading his division at the corporate headquarters in New York and helping train and teach new software developers coming into the company, as well as a small class he helped teach at a local college.
In his spare time, Caden also helped develop VR tech and games for VR headsets, with his dream of one day being able to develop a game from scratch.
As well as these, Caden worked with other clients who paid him well to work as an engineer to track down issues in their systems, such as rogue artificial intelligence for instance, where the AI was becoming a bit too good for the person's liking.
On one such occasion, he was hired by a client he never met to go into some old code to figure out why an AI was messing up an older entertainment program discovered in a VR headset. Caden took up the offer, going into the software but... never coming back out.
The actual program he had been yanked into? The Amazing Digital Circus. The actual "AI" he was tasked with finding and getting rid of inside the code? All a false lead as something, or someone, wanted him inside the circus.
Once inside the Circus, Caden was given a new look and a new identity. "Caden" was not his original name; it was... something. Something he's now lost and can't seem to claw back. Regardless... Caden was given a new look, yay!
Similar to his other verses, Caden was modeled as a tall, bipedal/anthropomorphic German Shepherd with what appeared to be a glowing red eye and some fun cartoonish like features, although his design is... much more grounded in reality than some of the cast's appearances for some reason.
He also retains the cyborg-like arm as he has in other verses, but it is cel-shaded gray now (instead of pure metal) that has faint blue digital lines running throughout it, sometimes flickering or glowing brighter depending on his mood.
Caden wears a more stylized, colorful ringmaster's coat with a few different colors running throughout, trimmed with neon threads that flicker when Caden gets angry.
He does have a bandana as well in this universe, but the skull and crossbones that was found in his main verse are now actually animated and take on a cartoonish appearance. The skull and crossbones does sometimes, wink, or even snap it's jaw at others in the circus as if it's alive. But it isn't... right?
His red eye does seem to glitch on occasion, swapping between a more cartoon like eye and his normal, mechanical glare that comes along with it, although Caden isn't sure as to why that is. And it doesn't appear to be at any given point, it just kind of... happens, for whatever reason.
Caden's personality seems to be a blend of a "tough-guy attitude" and some chaos that is The Amazing Digital Circus, although he normally remains entirely serious.
He has a very strategic and calculated min, trying to think like a tactician when Caine assigns the groups tasks or when they're in an odd situation, no matter what those situations end up being. He tries to think about the problem facing him or the group and come up with a plan of some sort they can use. A plan that a lot of the cast seem to ignore.
Caden uses sarcasm almost as a coping mechanism for the absurd things that seem to happen around the cast in the circus. He isn't sure why that happens, but he seems to have a very dry sense of humor, similar to Jax in a way.
Caden has tried not to get too emotionally attached with anyone in the Circus. He is fully aware that everything is far too unpredictable and the idea of "dissapearing" from the Circus entirely is a real risk, one that he doesn't want to chance. Or lose someone he's grown close to.
Caden, with some bits and pieces of his memory try to find ways to break the adventures Caine sets up for them. He isn't successful a lot of the time, but he's been trying to chip away at some of the Circus bit by bit, hoping to maybe find a way to escape the hell that is the Circus or at least gain control over his environment.
In general, Caden seems to retain just a bit of his memories from the outside world, but it isn't enough for him to be confident in why they are all in the Circus or why he was pulled in specifically. He is trying to find out why he is there, but he has some doubts he'll ever find a good answer as to why that is. Overall? He keeps on with the adventures, trying to break them when he can, but also playing along with Caine so he isn't a big target on his radar. He knows some of the risks he's trying to take sometimes, so he would rather not be singled out by Caine, if he can absolutely help that.
As a quick note as well: He seems to be incredibly comfortable anytime the group is thrown into a western-like adventure. He always seems to be the most honest there and also be the most active in the adventure itself, especially if it involves anything revolving around bounty hunting. He does not act nearly this excited if it deals with any other type of adventure. like to keep it that way.
