The History of Master Kush
Master Kush is a popular indica dominant cross consisting of two landrace strains from various parts of the Hindu Kush region. It was initially named ‘High Rise’, which originated in South Amsterdam. Master Kush became popular mostly in coffee shops as a unique tetraploid strain; meaning has two sets of chromosomes, one from each parent in each cell.
As the plant matures, it produces an earthy, citrus essence with a bit of incense commonly described as a ‘vintage flavor’. The taste of Master Kush is somewhat familiar, similar to hard-rubbed charas hash. The variety provides full-body relaxation without many psychoactive effects on the mind. Master Kush is often reported to provide a sharpened sensory awareness experience.
Brief History of Master Kush
This landrace hybrid breed is 95% Indica dominant. The genetic crossing was conducted at the Dutch White Label Seed Company. It was first given the name ‘High Rise’, as the breeding was done in tall office building. Some think that it is a cross between Skunk #1 and Hindu Kush, bred and tested for many years in metropolitan Amsterdam.
Physical Appearance of Master Kush
Master Kush is an attractive plant. It has dark green leaves, hearty buds, orange pistils, thick resin, and white, sticky trichomes. The plant releases a pungent fragrance which is described as earthy, floral, intense, sweet and citrusy.
Medicinal Value of Master Kush
The THC level of Master Kush is up to 24%. This is more than enough THC to provide medical benefits, but Master Kush is a near full Indica, and its relaxing properties are the qualities most sought after by medical users.
Master Kush is known for its sedative effect because of its Indica genetics, characteristic of strains from the Hindu Kush Mountain region. Thus, the plant can be very effective in fighting anxiety or PTSD. If these conditions become a medical concern, it may manifest as General Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder or Bipolar disorder. Indica dominant strains can help sedate someone experiencing these symptoms.
Chronic Pain Management
Any symptom leading to constant, unrelenting pain is referred to as chronic pain. Managing to live a normal life with chronic pain is not easy. Life becomes a grind; slow and torturous. Using Master Kush can help ease the symptoms of a variety of issues like sciatica, dermatomyositis, fibromyalgia, back pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, polymyositis, and dermatomyositis. Master Kush is also very helpful in patients with POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome).
Master Kush is very effective in treating nausea, helping block the overactive nausea signal in the brain. For patients recovering from radiation and cancer and for those with POTS experiencing cyclic vomiting, this strain is very helpful.
