Warrior staff and families that volunteer with the purpose of helping every Warrior student reach his/her/their highest academic potential.
The Warrior Academic Boosters PTSO is comparable to the PTA/PTO organizations of middle and elementary schools as it is parent/family group. We welcome you to attend our meetings and to get involved in any of the many ways we support our students each year!
Hold evening meetings, many featuring updates from Mr. Yancey, guidance counselors and guest speakers
Raise money to award academic scholarships to as many students as possible
Fund and distribute academic letters, medallions, pins and certificates to all grades
Plan events such as Warrior Achievement Night and Senior Night of Excellence and provide refreshments
Proctor and provide refreshments for AP testing
Host evening guest speakers on popular topics
Coordinate Warriors Dine Out events with other 3 Booster groups
Students earn their Academic Letter from the Academic Boosters by having a GPA of 3.7+ for one school year.
The following year(s) of their Letter Award, students can receive their Academic Pin, for a GPA of 3.7+
Students earn a Merit Award from the Academic Boosters by having a GPA of 3.30-3.699.
Medallions for graduates are awarded to seniors from the Academic Boosters for having a GPA of 3.7+ and worn with the robe for the graduation ceremony.
Academic Letters and Merit Awards are awarded in the fall. Medallions are awarded to seniors in the spring.

2023-2024 This year were were AGAIN able to award FIVE $1000. scholarships. The Lego Competition helps fuel these as well as the Warriors Dine Outs and Concession Stand Volunteers.

Lego Competition Winners 2023
District Wide Event
The Academic Boosters biggest fundraiser is the Westerville Lego Competition! This event is held in early spring and is open to all Westerville and St. Paul students in grades K-8.
Registration information will be sent to all schools and distributed in district email communications.
Sponsors are always needed! Maybe you have a business that is interested in sponsoring Lego set prizes and/or becoming a larger sponsor with name recognion. Please contact us for more information.
The Lego Competition could not happen without volunteers! Students and adults come together for planning and executing of this event. Thank you to all who have helped.

We are always in need of VOLUNTEERS! Below you'll find some of the different ways you can make a difference. We have a place for everyone to volunteer, whether you're looking to be on the board or maybe a Friday night football concession worker, we have a job for you. Come to a meeting or contact us for more info.
Various volunteer opportunities happen throughtout the school year. Concession workers for sports games, AP Proctors in the spring, and Teacher Appreciation Week all require volunteers. Be sure to subscribe to the newsletter and watch for posts on Social Media for announcements!

Brief Description of Board Duties and Estimated Hour Commitment:
The President shall: preside at all meetings of WNAB; serve as an ex-officio member of all committees except the Nominating and Audit/Financial Review Committees; Coordinate the work of the officers and committees of this local PTSA in order that the purposes may be promoted; Appoint committee chairmen except the chair of the nominating committee; Appoint an auditor or an Audit/Financial Review Committee at least one month prior to the end of the fiscal year and at any change of treasurer; Submit to WPC a record of annual volunteer hours and donations. Typical hour commitment: 5 hours per month
The Vice President(s) shall: act as aide to the president; perform the duties of the president in the president’s absence or inability to serve; perform duties prescribed by these bylaws, standing rules, and by the parliamentary authority adopted by WNAB. Typical hour commitment: 4 hours per month
The Recording Secretary shall: keep a record of all meetings of the association; be custodian of the permanent file; have a current copy of the bylaws and standing rules; Perform duties prescribed by these bylaws, standing rules, and by the parliamentary authority adopted by this PTSA. Typical hour commitment: 5 hours per month
The Treasurer shall: have custody of the funds and maintain a full and accurate account of the receipts and disbursements belonging to this local WNAB; make disbursements as authorized by the President, Board, or membership in accordance with the budget adopted yearly by WNAB; have checks over $100. signed by two officers, who are not immediate family members, the treasurer and one other officer; provide a financial statement at each meeting; submit the books annually or upon change of officer for an audit/financial review; have WNAB bonded for a sum equivalent to the average gross receipts of this association during a year; perform duties prescribed by these bylaws, standing rules, and the parliamentary authority adopted by WNAB; file a 990 form annually with the IRS and have this unit maintain appropriate liability insurance. Typical hour commitment: 5 hours per month
The WNAB WPC Delegate shall: attend the meetings of Westerville Parent Council and report to the association; Be a member of the WPC voting body, representing WNAB; Perform duties prescribed by these bylaws, standing rules, and by the parliamentary authority adopted by WNAB.

Note: Students are NOT eligible to receive the GEM Award.
There are many, many GEMs in your building. Take a moment to look around and take another moment to let them know you are grateful for all they do by writing a nomination.

The GEM Awards Program was created in 2004 and recognizes those who make a difference in the lives of students and consistently go above and beyond for students at each school in the Westerville School District. District awards are given to those who impact students across the school district as a whole and/or at more than one building. Winners are announced in early March and honored at a special reception and BOE meeting in late April. Winners also receive a cut glass/etched trophy provided by Roush Honda.
