WMG TRANSITION WORK

Students will develop their knowledge and understanding of mathematical methods and concepts. You will use these to make connections and apply the functional elements of mathematics in everyday and real-life situations. 

 As science is a very hands-on subject, it teaches and strengthens research, observation and analyzing skills through conducing experiments and forming conclusions, and this encourages the brain to think independently and outside the box. 

The study of English enables you to develop some key transferable skills which will benefit you not only while you are at school, but also in the outside world. Better spoken and written skills will impact on your ability to get yourself noticed.

 Engineering involves designing and building things. If you study Engineering you will learn about how to create design briefs, how businesses convert design briefs to design specifications, production planning and the application of technology to manufacturing. 

Business Studies is designed for students finishing secondary school to learn skills for running a business, such as managing money, advertising and employing staff. 

Geography course is a good mix of topics such as urban issues, world development, extreme environments, rivers and hazards – to name but a few. 

As well as learning how to create computer programs, you'll learn to apply the problem-solving skills and creativity to other subjects and real-life situations.
