The objectives of the programme are to open more opportunity to the needy students and students with disabilities to receive financial assistance from the University, to train the students to work on campus (besides the Student Assistantship Programme) and to assist K/C/D/I/O/M that needs part time students with their work projects for a short term period.
The criteria of student for SEOC are as below:
Undergraduate:
Registered subjects during the time of appointment (active status)
IIUM needy student (registered with STADD and priority to B40 students)
First year second semester onwards
Latest CGPA not less than 2.5
Student with disability is also encouraged to work under this scheme
Postgraduate:
Registered (subject/proposal /research) during the time of appointment and working.
IIUM needy student (registered with STADD and priority to B40 students).
First year and second semester onwards.
Latest CGPA not less than 3.0 for coursework and mixed-mode. If doing proposal/research latest result must be “In Progress” or “Pass”. Student with disability is also encouraged to work under this scheme.
RM 6.00 per hour and maximum 20 hours per week or 80 hours per month taken from Student Khairat Trust Fund, Student Affairs and Development Division (STADD)
The availability of vacancies is subject to requests from the respective Kulliyyah/Centre/Division/Institute/Office/Mahallah (KCDIOM). Please refer to the relevant KCDIOM or STADD social media channels from time to time for vacancy advertisements.
The requesting KCDIOM is kindly reminded to ensure that all required information is completed accurately. Recommended candidates must also submit all necessary supporting documents as stated in the SEOC application form. Incomplete submissions may result in delays or rejection of the application.
1. Receive Approval
WMU receives the Approval for Allocation of SEOC from the respective KCDIOM.
2. Check Quota Availability
WMU checks the availability of the SEOC quota for the respective KCDIOM and obtains approval.
If No (Not Available / Not Approved):
WMU informs the respective KCDIOM on the unavailability of the vacant post or non-approval.
If Yes (Available / Approved):
Proceed to the next step.
3. Submission of SEOC Application Form
The KCDIOM submits/attaches the SEOC application form to WMU.
WMU will verify the candidate’s Had Kifayah status and refer to the IIUM Needy Students Database.
WMU will nominate a list of potential candidates/students (preferably from the IIUM Needy Students Database) to the respective KCDIOM.
Alternatively, WMU may assist in advertising the vacancy through student group channels, subject to receiving the relevant details or poster from the requesting KCDIOM.
Interested students may submit their resumes directly to the respective KCDIOM.
Selection Process:
KCDIOM contacts nominated/applied students for interview.
KCDIOM selects and recommends the student for the position.
The selected student is required to complete the SEOC application form.
KCDIOM submits the completed SEOC application form to WMU, STADD for offer letter processing.
WMU, STADD checks the student’s eligibility and status.
If eligible, WMU proceeds to issue the offer letter signed by the Director of STADD cum Chairman of KFC.
The approved offer letter is sent to the respective K/C/D/I/O/M together with the acceptance form.
WMU records the appointment in the database.
WMU, STADD tables the list of newly appointed SEOC students in the KFC meeting for endorsement.
4. Monthly Claim Process
The student submits the completed claim form to WMU, STADD for monthly payment processing (to be submitted during the first week of the following month).
WMU, STADD updates the database and files the documents accordingly.
