I've downloaded the drivers, I have the drivers on CD, but how do I install the drivers on Linux? This is the part that usually sends me crying back to Windows, but that's not an option this time so I'm just crying ;_;

I purchased a Asus TUF Gaming X570 Pro Wifi and it uses Intel Drivers for both its Wifi and Bluetooth drivers. So in my case I use Intel Driver updating app to update those two Intel drivers on my motherboard.

Computer hardware and software:

1) Clear CMOS (unplug computer from wall socket, ledt LEDs dimm out, connect CLR CMOS pins in right lower corner for a few second using a tip of screw driver)

2) When you boot up, set DOCP back on, enable fTPM, SVM, UEFI boot to Windows and what other settings you use and that wifi is enabled and if there is any bifurcation setting, it is on Auto.

3) Do not enable/install any internet enhancers, TurboLANs nor install Asus Crate - if you have any, uninstall them

4) Make sure you have wifi-antenna screwed all the way in.

5) Uninstall wifi-adapter from Windows and reboot

5) Reinstall wifi-adapter using latest drivers from Asus website

6) Go to Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network Connections -> right click on your wifi-connection and choose diagnose and let Windows do its thing.

Ok good news and bad news the good news is in most cases you dont actually need to install drivers for things in Ubuntu because the Linux kernel has a lot of drivers built in, the only cases where you may need to install drivers are for graphics cards and network cards(not so much).

You are going to need the compat-wireless drivers and relevant patches. Google "ar9170 driver" for all the necessary links(don't remember off the top). I have this working great in Ubuntu 10.10 with the aircrack-ng suite and WiFite. Make sure you dl compat- wireless and unpack 1st. Then dl patches(including "negative-minus-one-maxim") to the same directory. The rest is easy as per the links.Hope this helps. Worth going through as this is the best adapter I've found when working properly.stamphead1

War driving, also called access point mapping, is the act of locating and exploiting connections to wireless local area networks (WLANs) while driving around a given location. War drivers require a vehicle, a laptop or smartphone, a wireless Ethernet card set to work in promiscuous mode, an antenna and designated war driving software.

The laptop or smartphone enables the war driver to remain mobile while searching for vulnerable Wi-Fi networks. A war driver typically mounts the antenna on top of their vehicle. As the vehicle moves, the antenna can pick up Wi-Fi signals from networks to find open ones.

Special monitoring software connects the device to a GPS receiver and the car-mounted antenna. It enables the attacker to decrypt Wi-Fi routers and capture network passwords. Examples of war driving software include the following:

ETS-Lindgren's EMQuestTM EMQ-100 AntennaMeasurement Software offers a wide range of fully parameterized test methodsfor measuring basic antenna performance metrics, as well as testing bothradiated and conducted performance of various wireless devices.

Whether youre designingantennas for stand-alone applications, or testing an embedded antenna systemand radio module against any of the industry standard Over-the-Air (OTA)radiated performance test requirements, EMQuest EMQ-100 provides theflexibility to meet your testing needs.

The baseline test suite includes fully automated 2D (polar) and 3D (spherical) pattern measurement capabilities as well as various frequency response measurements for both passive antennas and active wireless devices in either transmit or receive mode. Vector versions of the tests allow detailed evaluation of antenna parameters, including left/right-hand circular polarization, elliptical polarization, and antenna correlation, all from the same vector pattern data. Scalar and vector response tests can be used to perform cable and range loss (path loss) measurements that can then be automatically applied as corrections to any subsequent measurement.

General post-processing capabilities include calculation of antenna properties such as half power beam-width, directivity, gain, radiation efficiency, total radiated power, and total isotropic sensitivity, as well as various partial surface performance metrics required by the various OTA test requirements.

A number of optimizations and industry firsts are provided to accelerate testing, including theta-dependent phi optimization, where the angular resolution is reduced near the "poles" of the pattern to reduce the required test time and maintain a more even surface resolution, and received signal strength (RSS) based sensitivity measurements that use RSSI reports from the mobile device to capture receive pattern information and greatly improve TIS test times. When used in conjunction with appropriate test systems, special test modes including high speed triggered acquisition and spiral data acquisition allow for extremely fast compliant and pre-compliant testing of TRP and transmit antenna patterns.

Specialized tests for measuring intermediate channel sensitivity, interference, or degradation are included to determine the potential self-interference on all wireless channels where total surface testing would be impractical and time consuming. In addition, wireless desensitization testing is provided to evaluate the impact of one interfering embedded radio on the performance of another. Using appropriate optional test equipment, this test meets the requirements of the CTIA/Wi-Fi Alliance Converged Devices Test Plan.

The EMQ-100 Software provides test functionality for single and dual axis (2D and 3D) antenna pattern measurements and the associated post-processing, for vector, scalar (relative or absolute power), and receiver sensitivity measurements. It also contains a response calibration package for capturing frequency response and VSWR curves from supported test equipment. Optional expansion packages are available to increase the testing capability, adding features like wirelss throughput testing, A-GPS testing, MIMO performance testing, and pre-compliant RSE testing.

Equipment drivers are included to control all ETS-Lindgren positioning equipment using the EMCenterTM Modular RF Platform with optional EMControlTM and EMSwitchTM modules. The base configuration include a choice of three optional equipment drivers from the standard list of available drivers, with additional drivers available at a nominal fee. Standard drivers are available for most frequently used vector or scalar network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and communication analyzers for single and/or dual channel data acquisitions. Hybrid drivers allow combining two or more dissimilar devices to function as another more complex device. For example, two power meters, or a power meter and a spectrum analyzer could be used in place of a dual channel receiver.

From this I've deduced that the drivers were at fault, so I found the MiniDVD that came with it and put these on my computer-the Linux drivers are here. I have also set up FileZilla to SFTP to the Pi. What should I do to install the drivers?

ROG Strix X570-E Gaming WiFi II has a CPU VRM with 12+4 power stages that combine high-side and low-side MOSFETs and drivers into a single package, delivering the power and efficiency that the latest AMD processors demand.

There are 3 types of WB335-based cards. 1-ANT cards share a LNA between WLAN/BT. 2-ANT cards have dedicated LNA for BT and WLAN and have antennae in both slots (MAIN and ALT), but WLAN RX diversity is disabled for some cards (based on vendor requirements).

To enable WLAN RX diversity using the ALT antenna, use the module parameter bt_ant_diversity. The Bluetooth interface has to be disabled when this feature is enabled in ath9k. Also, BTCOEX should be disabled, so the driver must not be loaded with btcoex_enable=1.
