WHAT IS SENIOR PROJECT?
An opportunity for seniors to complete an internship during their last four weeks of their senior year, INSTEAD OF attending classes and completing class assignments.
Interested? Identifying a mentor, a project site, and planning your project begins now through March. Application (the proposal) is due mid-March.
Seniors who successfully complete the proposal have their last day of WKHS class and assignments on Friday, April 12. Four the next four weeks, students attend and complete their designated hours at an internship site! The Wednesday prior to graduation, Senior Project students return to WKHS to present to a self-selected evaluation panel about the learning they experienced at their site.
At WKHS, we value that Senior Project is not more work, but that it is a valuable, different, individualized choice.

Important Dates
November 1 Information session during Senior Homeroom
Now – January, FebruarySubmit yellow interest form to Mrs. Stubenrauch’s mailbox or the tray outside of room 215; Brief conferences with Mrs. Stubenrauch about next steps and to PICK UP PROJECT HANDBOOK and get SCHOOLOGY COURSE ACCESS
Now – early MarchIdentify a mentor and site; begin writing goals. Interested seniors will be granted access to Schoology to begin goal revision and proposal approval process. You cannot write goals until you have a mentor and site.
Wednesday, March 6Goals must be approved by this date. Note that goals include multiple rounds of revisions, so begin this process early with your mentor.
Wednesday, March 13Project Proposal submission deadline is 3:20 pm.>>Proposal doc submitted to Schoology>> Contractual signatures form submitted hard copy to Mrs. Stubenrauch (mailbox or tray outside of 215)
Thursday, April 11Grades sign-off sheet due by 3:15 PM.
April 15 - May 10Seniors on Project
Weds., May 15Lunchtime displays in the commons (periods 4-7) ANDSenior Project presentations after school (3:15-4:30)
Sunday, May 26Graduation
