Students who wish to go above and beyond to serve their choir mates may apply for a leadership position on Choir Council. Selection takes place at the discretion of Ms. Zarecky, based on the application and possible interview, and the students' previous contributions to choir. Please review the following requirements and job descriptions prior to applying.

PRESIDENT
Requirements:
Minimum one year prior experience in the Palmer Choir program
A member of Chamber Singers or Music & Main
A history of good attendance and attitude
A musical leader in the program
Good communication skills, including regular use of e-mail
Duties:
Lead by example by participating in all choir events, including fundraisers, performances, etc.
Contact members of the choir(s) as needed
Represent choirs at school-wide meetings
Communicate problems to the director
Organize and run monthly leadership meetings
Organize and implement fundraisers and events
Lead rehearsals/sectionals when needed
VICE PRESIDENT
Requirements:
Minimum one year prior experience in the Palmer Choir program
A history of good attendance and attitude
A musical leader in the program
Good communication skills, including regular use of e-mail
Duties:
Lead by example by participating in all choir events, including fundraisers, performances, etc.
Function as President if (s)he is not available (see duties above)
Assist President with contacting the choir(s) as needed
Communicate with other members of choir leadership
Create leadership meeting agendas and communicate them to president and choir director
Take notes during leadership meetings and email them to council & director
PUBLICIST
Requirements:
Prior choir experience preferred, but not required
Good communication skills, including regular use of e-mail
Good handwriting
Mature social skills
Graphic design skills preferred, but not required (Canva, Photoshop, etc.)
Duties:
Lead by example by participating in all choir events, including fundraisers, performances, etc.
Inform admin, newspaper, and Terror TV of all choir fundraisers, performances, etc.
Write all choir events on classroom calendar
Create and distribute posters/fliers for choir events
Create a social media presence for choir events
HISTORIAN
Requirements:
Minimum one year prior experience in the Palmer Choir program
Good organizational skills, particularly with Google Drive
Good communication skills, including regular use of e-mail
Ability to create/edit slideshows
Duties:
Lead by example by participating in all choir events, including fundraisers, performances, etc.
Collect photos at every choir event
Create a slideshow for the choir banquet in May
SECTION LEADER
Requirements:
Minimum one year prior experience in the Palmer Choir program
Fundamental understanding of solfege, rhythms, and key signatures
Good communication skills, including regular use of e-mail
Mature social skills
Duties:
Lead by example by participating in all choir events, including fundraisers, performances, etc.
Lead sectional practices, using either practice tracks or a piano
Communicate any issues to the president and/or director
TECH CREW
Requirements:
No prior experience required
Interest in sound and light technology
Willingness to get dirty and do manual labor
Good communication skills
Duties:
Setting up and striking staging, sound, and lights
Lead by example by participating in all choir events, including fundraisers, performances, etc.
Communicate with classmates about choir events
