What really sets Square Photo Studio apart from other photography apps is its seamless sync with your Square item catalog. There is a photo studio located on MCB Camp Lejeune in Bldg. 54 on Lucy Brewer Ave. and on MCAS New River in Bldg. AS-425 on Campbell St. All personnel should walk in for service; we do not make appointments for individual photo studio services. The photo studio will provide command and official photos for all winners of command-sponsored meritorious promotion and NCO/MOQ boards, in accordance with MCO 3104.1B. However, Marines requesting command board, official or any other types of photos for inclusion in meritorious promotion and NCO/MOQ packages will not be supported.

All customers must have all proper paperwork with them and be wearing their full uniform, in accordance with current policy. Dressing rooms are available inside the photo studio.

Chain-of-command studio photography will be provided for leadership at the squadron-level and above (SES, General Officer, commander, deputy/vice commander and director, senior enlisted leader, and first sergeant)

A home, business, toll gate, and photography studio, this historic building has been rebuilt and reimagined many times during its tenure on the rim of Grand Canyon. From humble beginnings, Kolb Studio grew and changed with the family who called it home.

In 1901, Ellsworth Kolb arrived at the rim of Grand Canyon by train. By October 1902, he had persuaded his brother Emery to join him. A year later, the brothers established their photography business near Bright Angel Trailhead after receiving permission from Ralph Cameron, who at the time owned Bright Angel Trail. They camped out in a small tent on the canyon rim before building a small wooden house in 1906, which they called Kolb Studio.

Over the next 12 years, the Kolb brothers established themselves as both photographers and adventurers. From capturing unorthodox photos of hard-to-reach areas of the canyon to documenting their 101 days running the Colorado River on film with a motion-picture camera, Ellsworth and Emery revealed images that few had dreamed of. Selling their images in leather-bound books for three dollars each and touring the country to present their film lecture series, the Kolb brothers made a name for themselves and opened the eyes of a nation to this wonder of the world.

For decades, the Kolb brothers continued to make a living out of Kolb Studio on Grand Canyon's South Rim. Later in life, when their contractual agreements with the park ended, the National Park Service actually wanted to demolish this studio in the 1960s. The architecture wasn't quite in line with the style and theme of other buildings in the park. After several years of quibbling between Emery and the agency, the structure was saved when Congress passed the National Historic Preservation Act in 1966, legislation that effectively protected park structures over 50 years old from being destroyed.

Our facility is now available for rent as a photo studio. Aside from serving as the only venue in the world with the capacity to record direct-to-acetate, the Blue Room doubles as a fully-equipped photo studio complete with a cyclorama wall, ideal for photo and video shoots. I do a lot of furniture design and product design. The best I've been able to do is just quick model a room and then cut holes in it and use rectangular lights to get something that sort of looks like studio lighting. But I would love to find a HDRI file and settings that look good so I can render and design as I go. The built room and rectangular lights tend to get in the way as I'm designing.

If Your studio gets in the way when You model, enclose it in a group and put on dedicated layer.. then turn that layer off.. but it will make light dissapear.. if You enclose Your studio inside of a component You can RMB > Save As... And later import it when You start new project..

The 23rd Wing supports the following requests for official photos:

- Chain-of-command photos for leadership at the squadron-level and above (commander, deputy/vice commander, senior enlisted leader, and first sergeant).

- Award photos for winners at group-level and above.

- Photos required due to mobility (PCS, Deployment, etc.). Passports for deployments falls under this category; customers must bring a valid Air Force Form 833 Multimedia Request form to receive support. Requestor information MUST be completed by the individual's Unit Deployment Manager, or the passport office. The individual requiring the passport/visa photos will be the accepter.

Delivered Products

Electronic copies of official photos will be emailed to all requestors. Requestors requiring a printed copy should confirm the size prior to their appointment and provide written justification of the requirement.

Not all print requests will be accepted -- resources are limited, so prints cannot be guaranteed.

Customer's Responsibilities

All studio appointments must ensure their uniform is ready and serviceable before their appointment. If the uniform is not ready by the scheduled time, you will be forced to reschedule for another day and time. It is your responsibility to ensure your uniform, badges, ribbons, devices and accessories meet or exceed your military service requirements, standards or instructions.

I dreamt of a space that would exude professionalism, fostering creativity and excitement for my clients. I held that dream firm in my mind, worked hard, and rocked out many photo shoots in my guest bedroom studio. Eventually, I was able to lease a studio of my own. I remember that day when I first got the keys. It was a small but mighty space. After that, I moved on and leased two other photo studios, each bigger, nicer, and more perfectly suited for my needs than the last. It was wonderful to have a space filled with gear where I could work, create, and host photoshoots and meetings in, but there were also some drawbacks. Long-term leases proved expensive, with escalating rent and additional expenses like internet and electricity. On top of that, I also felt a little limited.

Traveling for photoshoots was becoming more and more necessary for my photography work. I found myself booking shoots in places like Los Angeles, New York, and Nashville. My photo work was no longer restricted to my hometown.

As I started to book these shoots in other cities, I did some research about studio rentals, hoping to find a person that I could connect with to borrow their studio for a day or two. To my own luck and surprise, I stumbled across PeerSpace. PeerSpace is a platform that allows you to rent photo studios by the hour in cities all over the world. On PeerSpace, you can find everything from professionally equipped studios to unconventional rooms and residences that you can rent by the hour. You can browse through tons of different spaces, select the one that best suits your needs, and book it directly through their website.

I booked my first studio rental in my hometown of Richmond, Virginia to test it out. The process worked seamlessly. I booked my studio online and was instantly emailed a confirmation. Prior to the shoot, I was contacted by the host with all of the information I needed about working in the studio and given an access code. When I arrived at the studio for my shoot, the space was perfectly set up and ready for me to start shooting. After the shoot, I tidied up and left the space as I found it. So simple. So easy.

With the increased travel I was doing for my work and the availability of PeerSpace studios pretty much anywhere in the world, I ultimately decided to let go of my own studio space. Now I use PeerSpace to rent studios for all of my shoots. It keeps my overhead low and allows me the flexibility to travel and do studio photography work anywhere I want. I appreciate the ability to rent spaces that cater to each shoot's unique requirements, whether it's a full makeup mirror, kitchen, or lounge area, depending on the project's scope.
