Suddenly fearful, Prismo divides himself into two beings: one escorts Fionna, Cake, and Simon to the exit, while the other distracts Scarab. Scarab inquires why Prismo ignored his universe breach alarm twice, with Prismo unconvincingly claiming he needed to change the batteries. As Fionna complains she and Cake just want to go back to Ooo, Prismo explains the Scarab is a God Auditor, meaning they could all get into serious trouble if Scarab finds out about them. They pass through the Time Core, where Prismo explains the concept of the multiverse, with the web of different universes. However, because Fionna and Cake's universe is unauthorized it is way off the map, and its mere existence could have dangerous effects on other realities. They finally arrive at their destination: the room holding Old Man Prismo. As it turns out, Prismo wants to force Simon to reopen the portal so they can put Fionna and Cake back in their universe. Fionna and Cake make a run for it, while Scarab finds out about them due to Prismo messing up who he was talking to. Scarab sees an opportunity in learning of Prismo's misconduct, pledging to turn in the rogue universe and become wishmaster instead.
