History: Dagmar used to roam as a loner in Dead Country, stealing from whoever she could as often as she could. She felt she had every right to, she had nothing, and others had such excess. It was only fair. She lived this way for years, relishing in her new found life. The bounty on her head grew every day. You would think a mare with a coat as flashy as hers would be easy to catch, but she was too slippery, too quick thinking, and had too many friends in low places to sneak her way out of any situation. No one could touch her. Through this life style she met 7874 Laverna, a young mare who felt equally hard done by life. She felt lost in life, and had spent months searching for the white mare. She was desperate for a purpose, a meaning to life, and when she found out about this option, she wanted nothing more. Dagmar was hesitant to teach her when she was so young, although Dagmar loved her life, it could be hard at times, and if Laverna was caught stealing, she could be killed. But the young mare was so persistent. She had spent so long trying to find the older mare, and she wasn't about to let her get away without teaching her a few tricks.

Reluctantly, Dagmar took her in. But Laverna was too slow, too panicky when things went wrong, and not nearly as slippery as she needed to be. She had too many close calls, and was even caught a couple of times, only to be bailed out by Dagmar. The older mare refused to teach her more out of fear she would get herself killed one day. Dagmar didn't want to bear that responsibility. She told Laverna that if she truly wanted to succeed in this life style, she would need help. And then she left her.

Laverna went on to create the Sand Thieves as a result. She sought out her mentor to show her what she had built by herself, only wanting her teacher to be proud of her. But Dagmar didn't seem to care. She wanted nothing to do with the herd, she wasn't accustomed to living with others, and definitely didn't want to work with others. Laverna could see how the years had taken a toll on Dagmar, however, and insisted she stay with them from now on. Injuries accumulated over the years, gone untreated, combined with a dash of arthritis, meant Dagmar was close to either giving up her life style or being caught and killed. Laverna would not have it.

The two mares ended up fighting over the issue, Laverna insisting she stay with them and let them take care of her, and Dagmar refusing to comply. The argument turned fight was brutal, and Laverna, younger and stronger, with years of fighting experience behind her, ended up injuring one of Dagmar's hind legs. She would never run again. Dismayed by her actions, Laverna escorted Dagmar to her own tent within the Sand Thieves camp, made sure she was comfortable, and then left her there. She sent their healer, 7575 Mangoloco, to ensure she was okay, but both of the old mares knew she would never be able to leave camp now.

The pair quickly became friends, while Laverna avoided Dagmar like the plague. Mangoloco taught Dagmar how to heal, and Dagmar shared stories of her life with the young mares of the herd. She's frustrated that she cannot leave the camp, but at least she can put her mind to good use.

Quirks: Dagmar's ears are super fluffy. Her many foals are the results of her escapades over the years, although she doesn't keep in touch. She prefers to remain unattached so no one will target them as result of her crimes.
