Egypt has about 30 million tons of agricultural waste per year (about 15 million cellulosic mass) which gets burned or reused, which won't solve the problem of material degradation. Also, our accessibility & affordability within Egyptian poor villages will be better for those who constantly need these kinds of products.
Since cellulosic mass is the most abundant organic polymer in the world, we decided to take advantage of the zero-waste raw material in Egypt (Complex Carbohydrates) by transforming palm leaves & rice straw into bio-cellulosic fibers using chemical treatment & bioproduction. Then take the final output to make the final products locally using reverse-engineered hydroentanglement technology for wipes production, which is fully degradable, and eco-friendly.
Our team helped more than 4000 families of farmers and youth, and 350 families of divorced and widowed women to increase their monthly income from an average of 700 EGP to about 30000 EGP meaning that their general income level will increase by more than 5000%. Plus, we established 4 hubs to start manufacturing sanitization wipes and paper tissues within only 5 days to recycle 1 ton in a single production cycle producing 1200 boxes of high-quality wipes.
Empowering 900 women and youth through Independently pathway projects that give them free will and the right basic life elements. Plus, establishing 2 main centres for ambassadors to train women, youth, and farmers to practice the processes with no barriers, and control production and distribution.
It’s a huge step up from previous funds that Leclerc and company began raising several years ago – beginning with their newsletter readers. “We first raised a $2.5 million friends-and-family fund,” he said, “but then five months later, we needed more money, so we raised $2 million, then six months later, we raised 5 million. And so on, it wasn’t the most conventional way to raise money, but Capital had this “massive subscriber base” to which it could talk directly about its fundraising efforts, Leclerc said, “and the belief that we know what we’re doing and can spot companies started a lot of conversations that we wouldn’t have had otherwise.
