I still have winzip 18 and refuse to upgrade any further since I have seen nothing in the upgrades to produce more security. I thought about 7-zip but there were a lot of cautions on the info page so I decided to stick with winzip.
i think, the issue Might be the user on your end isnt comfortable with Change and doesnt want to rock the Boat, it could be that the use of Compression tech in thier Daily job is essential and doesnt want to rock the Boat. best thing is to have them both and use the 7zip.(you may need to do some hand holding when they do thier first few zipping )but after that, it should be fine to move away from winzip should everything happen seeemlessly.
I'm new to Paint.net, but I've read your whole history and paint.net features, and think it's going to be the answer to my prayers. Is it possible to download it WITHOUT using WinZip? I use 7xfm -- from 7-zip.org -- and much prefer it to winzip. (I changed my "association" for zipped files long ago and have never looked back.) I'm using Win 7 Pro on both my machines, which works great for everyrhing I need at the moment. I hope to be able to bypass WinZip.
How do I unzip the actions at atncentral without winzip, stuffit, etc? I don't have an external software program to unzip .zip files and I don't think I want to buy one. I've already used up the evaulation days for Winzip, so there's no going there. Isn't there a way to do this using Windows XP Home Edition and is ok to extract these actions manually?
The WinZip version does not install to the "Program Files" directory and does not make any changes to the Windows Registry or create any environment variables. Also, shortcuts need to be created manually. You need to have the ability to unpack zip files in order to use this version. Note that you still need to install Tcl/Tk to run the GUI version and it is recommended that you install Ghostscript and Ghostview for viewing and printing Postscript files. Downloading The PC version is distributed in executable form since most users do not have the necessary Fortran compilers. You can download the source from the Unix download pages if you are interested. Step 1: Download the Dataplot Files In order to install the Dataplot, download the following file: dataplot_winzip_2016_07_06.zip (approximately 31.6 MB). This file contains the basic Dataplot installation. Note that Tcl/Tk, Ghostscript, and Ghostview need to be downloaded and installed separately as described in the Install Shield based installation.
