One of the largest clubs on campus, Ski Club (279 members), recently went on a group trip to Palisades Tahoe on March 12. This was their first and only trip of this school year, their 51st trip in the club’s history. The 38 students participating showed up at De La Salle with their ski/snowboarding equipment before the bus left at 5:30 AM. Participants were then driven to Auburn, CA for a quick breakfast of either local bagels, McDonald's, or Starbucks. From there we continued on until we reached our destination, where the temperature was about 50 degrees. Everyone suited up, and then Mr. Shively (the Ski Club Moderator) distributed lift tickets. Most people were able to hit the slopes just as the resort was opening (around 9:00), and got almost a full day of skiing before returning to the bus for s’mores, street tacos, and warm drinks. After the long drive home, the bus arrived back at De La Salle’s front parking lot around 8:00 PM.
