Becoming a Part of God's Family

Being a Christian is not about doing or saying the right things. It is about a personal relationship with God. As you start out, you will probably have some questions – and maybe even some doubts about this relationship.

Jesus assures us many times in the Bible that if we put our trust in Him and accept Him as our Lord and Savior, He will be faithful to respond and enter into a relationship with us.

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” (John 10:27-29)

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him.” (Revelations 3:20)

If you have prayed and invited Jesus to be the center of your life, you have no reason to doubt that He will do what He has promised.

Knowing your sins are forgiven and you are ready for heaven is as simple as the following steps:

  1. Admit you have sinned……

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8)

  1. Believe in Jesus…..

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16)

  1. Confess and leave your sin…..

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9)

You might want to use the following prayer as a guide:

Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I’m a sinner, and I’m sorry for my sin. Thank You for dying on the Cross for me. Please forgive me of my sin, and accept me as Your child. I desire to live for You, Jesus. Amen.

Congratulations on becoming a part of God’s forever family. Obviously this is only a first step. Should you like to know more about your decision, please contact us or visit www.powertochange.com.
