Privacy Policy for WingWright

WingWright is a design and simulation bench for model aircraft. This document states plainly
what the app does with the numbers you enter, because a workshop tool should be as readable
as the model it helps you build.
1. No account, no profile, no tracking
There is no sign-up and no login. WingWright does not ask for your name, your email address,
your phone number or your location. It contains no analytics library, no advertising
identifier and no third-party measurement code. Nobody receives a report of which screens you
opened or how long you used the app.
2. Where your airframes and flights live
Every airframe you draft, every flight the simulator produces, every build brief, lesson score
and note is written to files inside the app's own private container on your device
(models.json, flights.json, briefs.json, notes.json) and to the app's local preference store.
None of it is uploaded. There is no server holding a copy. Removing WingWright from your
device deletes all of it at once, permanently, with no separate request to make.
3. The optional detailed answers
WingWright works completely without them. Design Coach, Flight Debrief, Ground School
tutoring, brief generation and the weekly debrief all have a built-in rule engine that runs on
your device, and that engine is what answers whenever detailed answers are switched off.
With them switched on, the app sends a request to OpenAI (model gpt-4o-mini) at the moment you
tap one of those buttons, and at no other time. What travels in that request is limited to the
technical description of the situation you asked about: airframe dimensions, material, mass,
the calculated aerodynamic figures, or the launch conditions of a flight. Your model names,
your notes field, your saved log and anything else in the app are not attached. No identifier
of you or your device is attached. Replies are cached on the device, so asking the same
question about an unchanged airframe does not send a second request.
Before the first such request the app shows a notice describing exactly this, and nothing is
sent unless you accept it. Declining leaves every feature working on the offline rules.
OpenAI processes those requests under its own terms; their privacy policy is at
https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy. If you would rather no request ever leave the
device, turn detailed answers off in Settings — every feature keeps working.
4. Local notifications
Flight-day and weekly-debrief reminders are optional and are scheduled by iOS on your device.
They are not push notifications, nothing is sent through a server, and the app never learns
whether you opened one. iOS asks for your permission before the first reminder is scheduled,
and you can revoke it in the system Settings app at any time.
5. Children
WingWright is aimed at hobbyists building and trimming model aircraft. It is not directed at
children under 13 and no data is knowingly collected from them. Since the app collects nothing
from anyone, there is nothing about a child to hold, share or delete.
6. Exercising your rights
Because nothing is stored outside your device, you exercise deletion directly: use Reset
Progress in Settings to clear the hangar, log, lesson progress, achievements and cached
answers, or delete the app to remove everything at once. There is no account to close and no
request form to file.
7. Changes to this policy
If the app's data handling changes, this document is revised and the date above is updated.
Continued use after a revision means the revised version applies.
