Data science is an interdisciplinary field about processes and systems to extract knowledge or insights from data in various forms, either structured or unstructured, which is a continuation of some of the data analysis fields such as statistics, machine learning, data mining, and predictive analytics.
Data science encompasses several areas such as data analytics, machine learning, statistics, optimization, and managing big data.
WinDS will bring together women researchers and practitioners in the field to deal with emerging challenges from both theoretical and practical perspectives on data science and advanced analytics. Work in the data science field to help minorities and for social good, especially for women, is more than welcome, as well as work in application of data science to finance, health, sport, politics, and so on. The same we are open to receive work done by women in data science field exposing problems they faced in their daily jobs and how it was solved so that we can help by example other women and stimulate more women in this career.
This year we have three different tracks:
The main author of the paper should be a woman.
