"The Avid application could not configure the windows Audio Mixer. Windows audio will not function properly until you Manually configure the windows Audio Mixer. To Manually configure the windows audio mixer use the sound card configuration settings located in the settings window."

I am trying to write a C# code that outputs the current audio output level from each of the windows application accessing the sound output (as shown with constantly changing green bars of the Volume mixer).

Example: It is not possible to mix a headset plus an audio input with a Skype call and listen to the combined result. Usually its only possible, to use more than one device at a time in a software application (e. g. the Mic headset in Skype, Game Sound). Especially internet browsers dont provide a audio device selection, they are limited to the default windows audio device.

Seeing the same issue described, but in my case it ONLY affects all media being used in any Google Chrome browser tab. Every time I turn the volume mixer for Chrome back up, once i put my PC to sleep/shutdown, turn back on, as soon as iCUE boots up it resets the browser volume to 30%. To alleviate, weirdly if i keep the volume mixer open, it won't change it under those conditions, or of course, if i simply do not use iCUE, but i want a custom EQ going!

Windows 10 was released in 2015 almost everyone liked the new interface. However, it removed the volume mixer shortcut which was available earlier. Using that one could easily adjust the volume for each application directly from the volume level control icon in the taskbar.

Wow thanks so much. I put the EA app into offline mode and like magic the volume would actually save my changes in the volume mixer. Never seen a game do that before, not even Dead Space 2 which I also played through the EA app. I wonder how a launching application can do that?

You can get to a mixer through your terminal actually. Open your terminal, and type in sudo alsamixer it will then ask you for a password, put in your password and a GUI should appear. It explains itself from there

You may be able to record louder using analogue stereo mix of the built-in sound card, if you make the built-in sound card the Windows default playback device so that the browser plays to the built-in card. To see if you have built-in stereo mix, go into Windows Sound as described at the top of _recording_computer_playback_on_windows.html.

For some reason, Spotify decides to mute itself in the volume mixer and I cannot unmute it. It has done this a few times but all I had to do was restart my PC. Unfortunately, this time restarting the PC has not woked.

In the volume mixer the un-mute button does not do anything and the volume scroller is greyed out. It shows movement (the green bars) when I play a sound in Spotify, but the volum scroller can't be changed.

It's apparently related with webconference/call softwares like skype, discord, teams or zoom. They request exclusive control of a device to windows, which gives it, muting every other connected apps. When the call ends, however, the unmute never occurs...

Warning: This trick involves editing the Windows Registry, and misediting the Registry can cause your computer to stop functioning. So if you are not completely comfortable editing the Registry, I suggest sticking with the Windows 10 volume mixer for now.

4. Log out of your Windows account and log back in. Click the speaker icon in your system tray and you should see your old-school Windows mixer. (You may not need to log out to see this; for many users it works instantly.)

Notification Center is another way to access Volume Mixer in Windows 11. To do this, right-click the volume icon in the bottom right corner of your taskbar and choose Open volume mixer.

After start up Firefox I am not getting any audio. No other app nor browser has this issue. It does not show up in the volume mixer. I've made sure all apps, browser, drivers, and windows are up to date.

Your question lacked an important detail: are you using multiple monitors and wanting to have a full-screen mixer on a different monitor from the Edit/Arranger window? If that's what you're asking, you can certainly do that. This is the way I always work in S1. As in the pic in jasonwilmans' answer below, click the 'Detach' button. This makes the mixer a separate window. You can then drag it to your second monitor and maximize it. If you create a template with that arrangement, it would effectively be the default, at least for any song you base on that template. You could also maximize it on the one screen if you only have one, but you'll be switching between them a lot.

This is a very good request and the issue is the same on Windows 10 as well. Most commenters here don't realize that the detached mixer window is not actually a "window" in the operating system sense. The whole Studio One is just one window as far as the OS is concerned. My workflow in Reason was/is to place the sequencer and mixer on separate virtual desktops so I can quickly switch between them on a keyboard (ctrl+win+left/right on Windows, ctrl+left/right on a Mac). Here's how it works with Reason (and as I understand from OP in Logic as well). You can't do this in S1 at the moment which is a shame.

Pulse audio plugin comes builtin in manjaro, i have it but it have a volume mixer only for input output devices like mic and headphones, not for individual apps. I want mixer which can change volumes seperately for each apps

If you click the icon of the xfce4-pulseaudio panel plugin

there is an entry at the bottom, starting the mixer.

From there you can have it show either all streams or each applications stream separately or virtual streams.

The selector is at the bottom of that mixer window in the playback tab.

With Adobe Audition, you can also edit the waveform, allowing you to modify the original sound. Some powerful editing features it offers include mirror fading and keeping layer stacks while moving some parts of the stack. One of the features we find interesting about this sound mixer is its sleek interface. This makes it easy to explore its audio mixing and mastering tools. In addition, you can easily explore its many features at your own pace.

A popular sound mixer for Windows 10 is FL Studio. This top-notch sound editing tool allows time-stretching, multitrack recording, and pitch shifting. In addition, this sound mixer has varying effects, delay compensation, automation, and many more. Because it is aimed at music artists, it supports common file formats like MP3, WAV, FLAC OGG, MIDI, Speech, AIFF, DWP, SYN, and many more. In addition, FL Studio supports VST standards, 80 professional-grade plugins, and the delay compensation feature.

It is an excellent choice for beginners and professionals because of its ease of use due to its interactive interface. In addition, FL Studio has everything you need in a sound mixer as it allows you to mix, record, edit and master quality audio files.

Everything I've tried is close to that but not quite: The Mixer in the Window menu (command+2) opens multiple mixer Windows. I've also tried using the "Proj" button in my Faderport, but does something baffling: it opens the session window but not expanded to fill the whole window. That one almost works, if I could open it in a maximized state.

So what I do is on Screenset 1, I keep both the Main (Arrange) window and the Mixer open full-size, and use CMD and the tilde key to switch between them. This key command switches between all open windows of any application or the Finder, system-wide, just as CMD-Tab switches between applications, and is instant with no delay or screen redraw. 2351a5e196
