Hi all, I've discovered that I can change my audio track-heights in Premiere Pro CC 2018 in Windows by using keyboard shortcuts, pressing together "Alt +" or "Alt -" so I can see the audio-track's waveforms much clearer. The thing is that the system plays a weird "ding" sound every time I do that (which sounds exactly like the default "error-ding" of Windows!!).
However it does NOT give ANY sound at all when I adjust the video track-heights (by pressing "Ctrl +" or "Ctrl -" (which is weird, I'd expect the same sound as well). Many thanks in advance to whoever answers my questions

@Talisphere My name isn't in the upper left, so I'm having trouble finding the settings location you mentioned. My photo and initials are in the upper right. Are you accessing settings from the app or the web? I'm accessing from the web.
@rtakayamaI am using the mobile application on Android and the PC desktop version. I wasn't aware that there even was a Web version. I see in the Web version, your name does not appear in the upper left corner. In the Web application, you click the Gears icon (above Sort), and disable "Play Completion Sound"
@oliviabrown On my Macbook, I discovered that in addition to having "Play Completion Sound" checked in To Do Preferences, I also needed to check "Play user interface sound effects" in Mac OS's Sound->Sound Effects settings.
Every time I press Enter when searching the Bible, an annoying Windows system "ding" sound rings at maximum volume. It's really irritating and distracting and makes me feel like I'm making a mistake by studying the Bible.
The sound no longer occurs after a search in e-Sword. This may disable the sound for other things as well, so be aware of that. But at least now you can search AND use the enter key without that annoying ding.
Whenever Power BI tries to open a new window (pop-up or notification, -the type that shows up when you click the Get Data and choose SQL Server button for example, or the Enter Data button-), the window does not show up, and blocks the entire software. Clicking results in windows "Ding" sound, and the only way to close PowerBI Desktop is to kill it through Task Manager.
I am facing the same issue with Tabuler model as daasource so it is not memmory. Strange this is that it happening to one report but not another one. Noth are connected to the same datasource. I am using Sept 2023 PBI (frustrating). We also use Power BI Desktop for Reporting Services so maybe that has corrupted something.
Sorry for bumping such an old toppic. I don't see an answer. And today I think I ran into the same problem after more than 7 years...
After clicking datasource(in my case Dataverse) the popup just does not want to show. There is no way to get it on top or it just does not want to load, but blocks the entire PowerBI Desktop window. Only resolution is to kill the app. Resources enough!

 Please use Process Monitor to check what is going on when opening new windows in Power BI Desktop. In addition, make sure that there is enough memory available for Power BI Desktop to run on your machine.

I am experiencing the same error. I suspected that that there was a configuration setting that was forcing the window to open off screen. I uninstalled Power BI Desktop, removed the folders C:\Users\xx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop and C:\Users\xx\AppData\Local\Temp\Power BI Desktop, and then reinstalled. Same behavior. I captured a Process Monitor trace surrounding the action to Connect to a SQL Server Analsysis Services data source. Where do I send the .PML file?
Connecting to File type data sources seems to work fine - the Open dialog is visible. The window for connecting to both SQL Server and Analysis Services data sources is not visible and locks Power BI Desktop with a ding as described by @MaximeMunger.
Does anyone have any ideas on why the modal window that is used to set up a SQL data connection is not visible? It seems like the window is opening, but just not visible. The main Power BI application window behaves like a modal dialog is open because it dings when clicked. I am dead in the water since I have not been able to connect to SQL data sources. I can open existing .pbix files and connect to text files. Uninstall/Install of Power BI Desktop with clearing the AppData files between does not change the behavior.
Windows uses the "beep/ding" sound to alert about specific actions, such as changing the volume level. While an accessibility feature, the beep sound when changing volume can be annoying, especially if you are wearing a Bluetooth headset.
Note that the process of turning off the volume change alert tone differs for your system speaker, wired audio devices and Bluetooth audio devices. The instructions below address each of these separately.

After reading your post I put Jabber into DND and call the line. The beep is the same. When moving from DND to Available, I was hoping this would fix it but it did not. Still get one beep on incoming calls, and that is it. The Jabber popup sits there waiting for me to hit Answer or Decline but never makes another sound and it popsdown when the caller hangs up or it goes to voicemail.
There is apparently a DND setting also at the user's back end profile level, and mine got set (unclear how) during a minor upgrade in April or May. Once he cleared that, it worked perfectly on 2 different computers.
Looks like you have a CP server- In our case we have WebEx connect (Jabber cloud) so I don't have these settings. However DND is also in Jabber client but it didn't make any difference when I checked or unchecked it.
