Ticking genes only affect white caused by white spotting genes listed on the White Spotting page. It "cancels out" the white in various ways, allowing the creature's original colors to show. If there are no white spotting genes present to affect, Ticking Series genes won't be visible, but can be carried and passed on to offspring.
These genes are all part of the same series, so a creature can only have two at most. Ticking genes are codominant, meaning having more than one will show the effects of both.
White markings fade out uniformly over the entire body, partially revealing some of the color beneath
White can be reduced 25-75%
Other markings will still go under it
Can also restore color to eyes and skin
Having two copies of the Faded White gene may remove any visual indicator of white spotting, showing only the natural color beneath. (Any hidden white spotting could still be inherited by offspring, though!)
